Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon April 2018 Day 7

Tuesday April 24th:
Our final day. 6:30am wakeup. Got the remainder of our packing done and dropped off our luggage for airline checkin. We left our carry on bag with bell services. We got to breakfast at 8:25am and it was super busy. But we still managed to get done and to the bus stop by 9am and dropped off at MK by 9:20am for their 9am park opening time. We went straight to Thunder and did standby since the line was short. As soon as we got off, we then used our FP for it since the line was growing and we were nearing the end of our FP window. We then stopped at Hall of Presidents. We hadn’t seen this since 2009 or 2010. We had to wait about 20 minutes for the next show to start since we just missed it. But we strolled around and looked at the displays and such. They had 2 security officers in the auditorium but thankfully our audience was respectful. We then went to Haunted to use our FP. We stopped in the Star Wars Store in Tomorrowland for a bit. The used our Space FP at 11:20am. We needed a little snack so we stopped into Gaston’s for a cinnamon roll with extra frosting! Be sure to ask for the extra frosting! We stopped for final castle pics on our way out. We were to our bus to back to PORS at 12:20pm and dropped off at the Main Bus stop at our resort just before 1pm. We picked up our carry on bag from bell services. We then stopped in the food court for a final for me and a strawberry cheesecake shake for Ryan. We had a 1:50pm DME pickup time. They were just a little late and max full once we boarded. We left our resort at 2:06pm and dropped off at the airport at 2:30pm! We grabbed a late lunch here before our flight. Chick-fil-a for me and Firehouse Subs for Ryan before we went through security. We had a longer layover scheduled for Austin but we got a text that our flight out of Austin was going to be delayed by about 1.5 hours. We got through Orlando security in about 5 minutes. Super easy today! When we got to Austin, we grabbed some yummy BBQ for dinner. I believe we were supposed to land back in El Paso before 9pm. But with the delay we landed at 10:10pm. We grabbed our luggage and got to our car. We have an hour drive home and pulled in the driveway at 11:30pm. We unpacked just the essentials and gave Winnie lots of loves and hugs. We had lights out just after midnight.

This was a fun trip for us! We got the cheer on Scott and Kathy for their first Disney 5k and experienced being race spectators for the first time! It was so much fun! I was so stinking proud of them!!! I did get to experience the worst half marathon of my life but I still managed to get through it. I enjoyed getting to meet up with several new d-cotters (Melissa, Jen and Kelly), and of course loved seeing Scott and Kathy again! My time with my sister was much too short, but life happens. We had lots of yummy food and great memories were made. Thanks for reading along! I wanted to make sure I got this trip report posted before we head to WDW next week!
