@85glht No worries! I follow you now! So you run on Friday and fly home the next day, correct? We love POFQ as well!! It’s a great resort for race weekend too!!! You will get to your bus stop on race morning 3:30 or 4am. If I remember correctly, unless the bus is full at POFQ, you will likely loop through PORS as well. So just budget that into your travel time before the race. At the end of the race you will for sure share a bus with PORS but POFQ is the first drop off.

Correct! Ugh 3:30am is sac religious on vacation, lol…. is there an option for using a car to get to the race (we are renting one). Or do you suggest using the busses?

If it were me, I would not advise driving to the race. They generally have bus after bus staged at the resorts and at Epcot to get you back after. The buses drop off in a convenient area for getting to the race area, it’s really a coordinated ballet. If you drive you will have to contend with bus after bus to get into the lot and then parking and driving back. I really think Disney transportation is the way to go on race day.

You can drive. But they make the buses so convenient! The parking for cars is very close to the start area. You will have a little walk when you get dropped off from the bus. You will be in the same traffic as the buses to get to the start. I don’t think I would want to try to remember where I parked that early in the morning! LOL The buses back to the resorts run very frequently and efficiently. We do so many run-cations that it’s normal for us to have at leave one 2:30am wake up during a trip! LOL The adrenaline and excitement wakes you up quickly! I’ve never had a car at Disney, so I don’t know the comparison from personal experience.

Yeah, what Heather said. ^^ It’s not at all like park transportation. At the resort, one bus pulls away and another takes its place. Same at Epcot when returning to the resort. You won’t be waiting around for a bus. And these are the comfy buses! The kind used for charter trips so you get cushiony seats! Sit back, relax before and after the race, leave the race driving to them.

Yep! They really do have the bus thing figured out!!! When they pick up at the resort you might have to wait 10-15 minutes if you just missed a bus. But they come through very regularly! And on the return back to your resort they usually have the buses lined up and stacked up to return guests. Super comfy charter buses!

Good to know on the transportation situation…

Last few trips we have been renting a car for the convenience… we venture off property for food and go to Old Town on Saturday night… they have a car cruise there… it’s quite nice

You can always use your car as a backup if need be. But we haven’t had issues. Plus, for races, you have to get to parking from a specific direction.

Sounds like the busses are the way to go on race day…. how about getting your credentials before the race? Car or bus or doesn’t matter….

@85glht That is at the Expo on Thursday, which is at Wide World of Sports. The do have bus service there and back but if you feel comfortable driving around, and it seems that you do, a car would be just fine. You can come and go as you please that way. There is ample parking there.
