Tuesday October 3rd:
6am alarm. Finished the last bit of packing we couldn’t do last night. Dropped off our checked bags for our flight and left our carry on bags with bell services. Our last breakfast with Mickey waffles. Off to the bus stop at 8:40am to MK for a 9am opening. Security took longer than usual due to the Vegas Shooting just two days ago. We had been noticing an increased security presence. But everyone was very patient and calm due to the current situation. Safety first! By the time we got thru the turnstiles we had missed the opening show because we got to Main Street at 9:04am! We went to Peter Pan with a 25 minute wait. Then Mine Train for our 9:40am FP. Then Pooh with a posted 30 minute wait, but it was only 10! Then Tea Cups with a walk on. Over to Space to use our 10:20am FP. We were sad at peoples actions at times. There was a group of at least 10 teenagers that jumped from the standby line to the FP line. We thought that surely the CM would say something when they got to the second check-in spot. But unfortunately even thought the light was blue, the CM let all of them proceed through the FP line. We had a FP for Thunder in a bit, but decided that we wanted to walk through shops and get a treat instead. We stopped in Starbucks for caffeine and their special fall Mickey chocolate cupcake. Ryan went down to the bakery and got a fun Rice Krispie Treat. We got pics on Main Street. We shopped and I picked up a shirt, book and a Dole Whip Emoji stuffed animal for Winnie pup! And we bought a Tink emoji for my bestie Deedee because today is her birthday! We got train station pics before heading to the bus. It was just before noon and we waited less than 10 minutes for our bus. We waited in the lobby and charged our phones for a while and filled up our mug and water bottle. We picked up our carry on luggage from bell services. Ryan had picked up anniversary buttons when he went to get his Rice Krispie Treat and surprised me by writing on them. One said 18 year and one said 15 years. October 5th is our 18th dating anniversary and December 14th is our 15th wedding anniversary. So we were wearing them. While we were in the lobby, a CM with a headset and speaker saw our buttons and asked about them. So we were chit chatting. He started serenading us with an anniversary song! It was so special!!! Just before our Tragical Express was to arrive, we walked through the gift shop. I saw the Jungle Cruise shirt I had seen the other night, but didn’t get. “Don’t believe me, you’re in DeNile”! So I bought it!!! We got outside and only waited about 5 minutes for our bus to arrive for our 1:20pm pick up. I grabbed Chick-fil-a before going through security, Ryan wanted something on the other side. Security took a good 30 minutes today, again, I think the Vegas shooting played into this increased time, they even had the dogs checking everyone. Ryan got Jersey Mike’s sub on the other side, so yummy! Our plane was just a little delayed coming in, but we had no worries since on our way home, we have one layover in San Antonio but don’t change planes! They can’t leave without us! It was a quick plane change situation again, on the ground for maybe 30 minutes. We landed on time in El Paso and grabbed dinner on our way home. There was an older gentleman there dressed as a clown and giving out balloon flowers, it was sweet. A little act of kindness. We had an hour drive and got home at 9:10pm. Winnie was so happy to see us!!!! We unpacked our suitcases and had lights out at 10:20pm.
Miles Logged 6.2This was such a great and fun trip! We always love the Food & Wine Festival and eat way too much!!! We were blown away by the visual aspects of Pandora and really enjoyed the food there as well. It was so awesome to be in EPCOT for their exact 35th anniversary and to see the celebration in person. This was an insanely hot trip. I don’t remember having a trip much hotter than this one. I was so thankful we took cooling cloths with. We just kept them in our pack right next to the ice water bladder of our Camelbak. So it was always cold and ready to use! It was a lifesaver!! Being able to attend 2 Halloween Parties was such a perfect choice! We still didn’t get to see all of the characters or ride a single ride, but we got do to so much more this way! Thanks for reading!!! Next trip reports will be after our trip in just a few weeks for our Dopey Challenge!!

December 22, 2017 at 10:50 pm #60131It was so much fun! We are used to experiencing the heat there, but this was a doozy to us! Thank you for reading and tagging along!
December 29, 2017 at 12:38 am #60650Nice last day! Sounds like it was a great trip. Do you guys live in NM or TX? Trying to decide what is an hour from El Paso and can’t think of anything. Is Portales, NM an hour from El Paso?
December 29, 2017 at 1:07 pm #60714It was a nice last day for sure!! We live in Las Cruces, NM! Smack dab in the middle and the most southern end. So El Paso is our closest airport. Albuquerque is about 3.5 hours north of us. Portales would be much farther than an hour from El Paso. Portales is actually close to Amarillo, TX so nearly 5 hours to El Paso.
