    Friday September 29th:
6am alarm. The coffee maker was broken so I called down to maintenance. I was selecting one cup and it was forcing the water through both sides. The gal asked if I wanted one brought up ASAP if I needed my coffee. I told her we were on our way out and would just grab it at breakfast. I ate my donut from last night. We stopped and filled up our drinks at water at the food court on our way to the bus. Our plan was to eat breakfast at MK. We were on a bus by 7:35am for MK EMH at 8am. We were on Main Street by 7:55am. We went to Space with just a 10 minute wait. While in line, we talked to fellow Disney runners. We then took a spin on Buzz since it was a walk on. Ryan won, as usual, but no Galactic Hero today. I think he was over 500k though! We decided to ride Tomorrowland Speedway since it was posted as a 10 minute wait, but it really was 20 minutes. We rarely ride these, and now I remember why! They just aren’t as fun to me as they are when you are little! It was 9:10am when we got off and regular hours were running. Off to Thunder with a 30 minute wait. I kept scrolling on my app to figure out who served quick service breakfast. Apparently no one does anymore! Our options were Gaston’s for a cinnamon roll or Starbuck’s for caffeine and breakfast sandwiches, we opted for SB. After breakfast, we strolled Main Street Shops since they aren’t busy at this time of day. We got castle pics then went to Haunted Mansion with a 20 minute wait. Since we were able to snag FP’s for Na’vi this afternoon when our FP window opened, we hopped to AK and were at the bus stop by 11:35am.

We went straight to Pandora. Before entering Pandora for our first view of this new land, there were CM’s letting people know that both attractions are down and have been all day. They were optimistic that Na’vi would open at some point but weren’t sure about FoP. Our plan was to have lunch there so we continued on to do that. We shared the hamburger steamed buns and the blueberry dessert. Bot were so good!!!! And there are free drink refills here! Ryan then got a tequila slushie at the drink stand. I wasn’t a fan, but he liked it. We had our other FP’s to get to for the afternoon. First up was the end of our window for Dinosaur at 2pm. Then off to Everest for our 2:15pm FP. We kept checking the app, but Na’vi still hadn’t come back up. We decided to just try to do standby for it on Monday when we were back at AK again. We stopped into Starbucks for huge iced teas since it was so stinking hot out. As soon as we walked out, it started to rain! And rain! And rain! Good news was the temperatures dropped quickly and it was so nice out! Bad news is that we had the Halloween Party that night. We left AK around 3:30pm but there was heavy traffic with the heavy rain.

We got back to our resort and decided to hang out in the lobby and refill our drinks while we waited for my sister (Teri) and 12 year old niece (Kailey) to arrive, they are attending the party with us and are going to stay in our room. While we were in the lobby, they brought in Cinderella to greet guests due to the rain and the pool being closed. Her line was closed off before we could meet her. Teri and Kailey arrived at the resort so we walked back to our room. Kailey had to finish up homework and submit it online before we could leave. It took her about an hour or so. It was pouring when we went to the bus stop and our bus was max full. The driver felt like he was going a bit too fast for the deep water because we nearly went off the road a few times, a little nerve wracking! Ryan and I gifted the party tickets to Teri and Kailey so that we could all enjoy it together. They had never attended any hard ticket event. We all promised to make the best of it and do what we could with the rain. We all had umbrellas and backup ponchos if needed. We arrived around 6:30pm and got our wristbands at the turnstiles. Due to the rain, they weren’t handing out the trick or treat bags right there, we would have to find them later. We were going to eat at Pinocchio’s for dinner, but it was already closed. So we went to Columbia Harbor House, it was PACKED. Ryan and I split the Trio platter and planned to snack later. It was very yummy. There was a trick or treat spot right outside, but that CM was out of bags. They said the next closest one was going to be at Mickey’s Philharmagic. So we went there and got our bags and went inside for our first stop of the night! Kailey started getting excited at this point! We hit up a few stops and let Kailey be our navigator on where the stops where (they are locals and she knows the parks like the back of her hand, but she needed the party map for the treat stops). We then got in line to meet Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet in their Halloween costumes!! My sister and I are huge Pooh fans, so this was a must! We waited about 30 minutes but it was such a fun and fantastic meet and greet and they were really having fun with everyone! Tigger was super obsessed with Teri! Tigger and Ryan were having a grand time too! I hung out with my Pooh bear! Good news, the rain stopped while we were in line there!!! No more rain for the night! We did more Trick or Treating. Then met Donald and Daisy. We managed to catch the 9:15pm parade right in front of the castle. We didn’t have a great spot, due to the rain, we didn’t know if it was going to happen, so we didn’t get there early. So we had a bit of a limited view, but we could all see. We all enjoyed it and Kailey was having so much fun! We then hit another trick or treat spot before getting our spot for the Halloween Stage show. It was cute! We then did more trick or treating. It was getting late. We then got in line for Genie and Jasmine with about a 15 minute wait since they had gone on break. We then stopped in the Pooh gift shop at the ride exit for Kailey to buy a stuffed animal Tigger. More trick or treating! We made it until midnight! We were surprised Kailey and Teri made it since Kailey had school all day and Teri worked! But they were troopers!! We all got back to our room with 4 very full bags of candy at 12:45am and lights out by 1:15am.

I agree, some rides aren’t as fun as when you were a kid. I can’t think of any examples for me though ^____^
I had no idea there wasn’t a quick serve breakfast at MK!!! :surprised:
What a bummer about the Pandora rides being down!
The rain here in Florida has its benefits and downsides. It’s so beastly hot without it!
I would need a map for the Treat stops as well! :treats:
It’s cool how you can meet Eeyore and Piglet along with Pooh and Tigger! So many exclusive meets I hope to do someday! :pooh: :tigger:
Disney will take whatever chance they can to fire the fireworks, as long as there’s no rain!
Kailey and Teri sound like true troopers! That takes dedication!

@sej101 I’m glad you haven’t outgrown any of the rides yet! Hold on to that for as long as possible!
There used to be numerous breakfast spots in MK. So that’s why we planned to grab something there. They used to do waffles at the ice cream parlor, but not anymore! So don’t count on breakfast there!
The CM’s seemed shocked that both attractions were still down. It sounds like that hasn’t happened before or not often.
On some of our trips, the rain helps! And on others, it’s created an even more oppressive heat. This was just one of those perfect helps!!!
The Pooh and friends meet was amazing!!! They had great characters out for the party!!! I hope you get the opportunity to go one day!
We were initially concerned they wouldn’t do the stageshow or parade because those will be cancelled quickly. We were all so excited when they all went off without a hitch! Teri and Kailey are Troopers for sure!!!!

I completely agree!! I was shocked to see nothing available, besides two! Im sure it wasn’t hugely utilized at park opening because everyone goes straight to attractions. But within an hour or two people get hungry and lunch places don’t open until 11am. So it’s such a gap!

SOOOO glad the rain stopped so it didn’t interfere with the parade or character greets. Those and the fireworks are the best part of the party!!

I think Speedway is the one ride that loses its appeal when we get older because you are pretending to drive a car when we drive real cars every day. All of the other kid rides hold up because they are still different than our normal lives.

Bummer about Pandora rides being closed but hopefully that resulted in lower crowds in the land and gave you a more pleasant exploring experience.

We were so thankful the rain had stopped!!! We honestly didn’t think we were going to be able to fully experience all the party had to offer! But it worked out!!!
I agree on Speedway!! We drive every day, not exciting to us anymore!! I love all the other kid rides though!!!
It was a bummer about Pandora rides being down because I would have rather used our FP for that than waiting in line 75 minutes a few days later! But you are absolutely correct, it wasn’t very crowded and it was our first view of Pandora. So we were able to stroll around and get lots of great pictures!
