Wow!! I just read this ‘first look’ of the food for Satu’li Canteen. The food on the menu sounds really good! https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2017/03/first-look-at-menu-for-satuli-canteen-in-pandora-the-world-of-avatar-at-disneys-animal-kingdom/

This in particular is of GREAT interest to me:
The fast-casual restaurant will also be the first to offer Mobile Order, a new convenient option to order and pay for meals on-the-go within the My Disney Experience app, allowing guests to bypass the queue to order when they arrive at the restaurant. Using the app, guests can select menu items, customize their order and pre-pay for their meal. When they arrive at the restaurant they will tap an “I’m here” button in the app, which will notify the kitchen to prepare the meal. When ready, guests will be alerted through the app to pick up their meal at a designated window. Additional fast-casual and quick-service restaurants will begin to offer Mobile Order later this year.

I am really looking forward to eating here in September!! :ears:

That is interesting! We will definitely try that next visit, might still be a bit of a wait but if there is a long line to order I guess that would speed things up. You can place your order while in line for one of the new attractions, sounds good to me!

I love the Mobile Ordering concept! You could be across the park, place your order, and then not have to wait in the line to order when you get there. Or in line and know that you want lunch after the ride, perfect! I hope they do expand that, I can see us using that!

P.S. Ah, great minds StupidJudy! ;)

All of our ADRs are set for September, but for a QS lunch I think this is very intriguing! I’m definitely going to try it… the photos of that fish dish look yummy!

I really like the idea, maybe they will have this option for more restaurants in the future!

I can already guess that’s the dish my youngest would have, along with the rice!

I remember when Harambe Market first opened up, the lines were terrible too. I think this new idea of ordering and paying in advance is genius !! Be Our Guest already has the ‘preorder’ lunch thing that you can do, but it sounds like this new plan is way better!!

I think I’ve only been once or twice to Be Our Guest and was a bit confused by the ordering process, I know, doesn’t take much LOL
But this sounds a lot simpler!

I totally get that!! Be Our Guest had good intentions, but it sounds like they have perfected it with this new system! Hopefully they will change it at BOG! You basically get an ADR for lunch online, same as other ADRs. However, you also go to a website and actually order your food and drinks for each person in your party. When you get there, you check in at the front desk, and you actually pay then before you get your food, but its a little bit weird that you actually ordered your food a month earlier!!! Sometimes you might forget what you actually ordered that long ago!! LOL (like my father… ‘I didn’t order that!!!” Uhhhh yes you did dad!!! LOL ) Then the Cast Member gives you a plastic rose which you take to your table and sit down. They bring your lunch to you … and that is that! So you are just bypassing the ordering line where you actually place your order on the kiosk touch screens.

This new system is cool… place order online… pay online…. and then when you are nearby you CHECK IN online…. MUCH BETTER in my opinion!

Just read it again more carefully: Additional fast-casual and quick-service restaurants will begin to offer Mobile Order later this year.

Disney Dining Plan is accepted at Satu’li Canteen but, at this time, Mobile Order only accepts credit cards.

So if I am not on dining plan I could use Mobile Order and charge it to room if my Magic Band is linked to my CC, right? I guess so if not you’d need to go through cashier. Answering my own questions, don’t mind me, it’s Monday LOL

Yay for additional restaurants offering this service! The way I look at it, it gives us something to do while we wait for rides.
