I got the feeling that more of these races would sell out after the release of Avengers: Endgame, especially the July 5K. When I looked this morning I saw the July 5K has also sold out.
May 20, 2019 at 11:43 am #110376I’m signed up to do these! I’m excited. I haven’t done a 5K before, but I just finished the Couch to 5k app a few weeks ago, and can do a 5K in around 38 minutes. I do most of my running inside on a treadmill.

That’s awesome! Those are great programs and I think the Virtual Running Shorts are fantastic to get you more acclimated to racing without the pressure. I think you’ll have fun! Are you doing all 3 races?
May 29, 2019 at 8:40 am #110790I’m signed up for all three!
June 10, 2019 at 11:21 am #112188I ran 5k in my neighborhood yesterday. I was about 35 seconds off my last actual 5k race which I honestly think is pretty darn good for it having been run in a training run environment versus the energy of an actual race. I’m trying to decide if I want to report yesterday’s time for the June 5k or if I want to run each weekend of the month and choose my fastest time to be my official time.
Has anyone else reported a time for the June race yet?
June 10, 2019 at 12:14 pm #112199I have not and I wonder when the medals will ship. The website says up to 30 days after the completion timeframe
I hope not because that would mean all of us running the challenge won’t get a since medal until possible September 30!
The plan right now is to run my June Captain Marvel 5K on June 22 but that may change. My schedule for this month is getting kinda nuts.
June 10, 2019 at 5:00 pm #112219I went ahead and entered my time for the “finisher certificate” which, as far as I can tell, is the only place to do that. It doesn’t seem very “official” so, yeah, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we just get a package of 4 medals in the mail at the end of September. Whether you actually run or not. Basically, you get them because you bought them. Seems kinda anti-climactic to me. Oh well, at least I’ll have the medals. Eventually.
You can edit your time even after you enter it so, I may still run each weekend and see if I can improve before the end of the month.

Even if you don’t submit your time, you will still get your medal. Unfortunately, with it being a virtual race, I don’t see how they could do it any other way. They also send the medals all at once for those completing the challenge. I know the first time I did the VRS they said it would be shipped after the last race but I got all of them after my first race, strangely the day before I planned to run my first 5K. I hope that happens again. I didn’t really think about getting the medals after the fact and that kinda defeats the point for me. It was nice to unwrap each one as I earned it. Definitely still add a new time if you improve! The finisher certificates were a great way for me to track my progress when I was just getting started and didn’t have a Fitbit or anything to record my time. Even with a Fitbit, it won’t stay there for every so it’s nice to have a pretty certificate to look back on and review your progress
June 17, 2019 at 11:47 am #112404Has anyone gotten their medals yet? I know the website says they’ll ship within 30 days of the completion time frame, so that would be almost the end of July for June races, but the last time I did these I got mine sooner than that. I was curious if anyone doing either the June 5K or the whole challenge had gotten their medals? I don’t remember every getting a shipping notification last time either, this box just showed up in my mailbox
July 3, 2019 at 12:54 pm #112996My medals arrived yesterday!!!!!
I haven’t opened them yet, even though I earned my Captain Marvel medal (still need to post about that). I got an email from FedEx that they would be delivered yesterday and they were. No forewarning just like last time. I had no idea what it was when I got the notification and thought it was a mistake
July 7, 2019 at 8:29 pm #113050I got my medals on Friday!

Awesome!
July 13, 2019 at 11:48 am #113321Captain Marvel 5K – June 27
So this one wasn’t super exciting. I originally planned to do it on a Saturday but ended up doing it one morning before work. You know, life getting in the way. But I still got it done in June!it was a little anti-climactic without my medal to open afterwards. It felt like any other run which was disappointing. I may do it over just to feel like I earned my medal now that I have it. It’s currently still in the box. I was really happy with my time and pace! I even had my dog run with me
Time: 32:11
Distance: 3.1
Pace: 10’22”
