‘Ohana breakfast- We usually enjoy dinner at this location, breakfast however was a one-and-done occasion. Cold food, poor character interaction (even with a 2 year-old princess seated at the table), service was rushed when they were there and then MIA for a long period of time.

Oh Nooooo!!! WE LOVE the Ohana Breakfast. Thats so unfortunate that your experience wasn’t that good. In my experience, the food was fresh, hot, and delicious. The characters really spent a lot of time with us and the parade was super! The coffee itself is worth going, it is so good!

For me, ever since my very first visit to 50’s Prime Time we just can’t seem to get a Waiter to play along. The first time we went we had a ball and our waiter was fantastic. Since that visit, I go all most every trip and try to get someone to get in on the antics and not one single waiter will do anything at all! We have to sit there and watch other people get the royal treatment. We try and try to cut up and be funny but they almost look at us like we’re just stupid. Well, at least the food’s good. :/ Same thing happens to me at Whispering Canyon. I almost think that when you deliberately ASK for a fun waiter they stick you with a dud.

We have noticed the same (as well as a downturn in the food quality)… I do think the ‘act’ has been squelched a bit, and my guess is people get offended and complain (not realizing that they signed up for it and it is the entertainment point of going there ). Sad, because at one time it was in our top-5 places to dine :(

@disneydana @ridisneypinguy I’ve noticed the same thing…it makes me sad :( My most recent good experience there was a few years ago and I remember there was a good bit of banter going on between our waitress and another waiter. The dialogue went something like this:

Waiter: “So when are you finally going to settle down and accept my proposal?”
Waitress: “Never! Especially since you proposed to 16 other women!”
Waiter: “Well it’s in the wedding vows: four richer, four poorer, four better, four worse…”
Waitress: “Uh-huh that explains the 16 others but what about me?”
Waiter: “You were the first of four ever.”

    LOL

We had fun at 50’s prime time, my husband did not know about it and he got yelled at as soon as the waitress came by to get his elbows off the table, he looked at me like what the heck lol ! I had to explain that’s what we get here LOL

Good Way – 50’s Cafe – Not my usual choice in foods. The Meatloaf is the best ever. Blew me away

Bad Way – Sci Fi Dinner – It just seemed flat to me. Could have been done so much better.

I agree with Sci Fi. I have yet to have a good meal here. The last time I ate there, I walked straight out the door and smelled food from somewhere else and immediately wished I had eaten there. I hate that because it probably has the best theming of any of the restaurants at WDW. I keep trying it again in hopes that it will get better.

Oh talking about a bad surprise…last trip, my best friend and I went to La Hacienda at 8:30 so that we could have apps and dessert while watching Illuminations. As soon as I told our waiter what we were there for, you could see this look wash over his face as if he was checking out. He proceeded to ignore us for so long that we were about to get up and leave without paying for our drinks and chips. Finally he came to take our order but he took so long that dessert was out of the question, so we got the Queso dip and it had to be the worst version of queso I’ve ever tried to eat. It wasn’t creamy and melted like what you think queso is supposed to be, it was this glob of glue that instantly got cold and you had to cut it. Deana my best friend swore it was mozzerella but I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt that it might be some “real” form of queso that we just weren’t used to. Well there was no such thing as dipping any chips in this stuff because it was so thick and getting colder by the minute. To give you an idea of how thick it was, I thought when it got to the table that it must be still melting and if we stirred it it would turn into dip. lol Nope. So at the end of this mess, we paid and left no tip and I have NEVER done that since I believe anyone can be having a bad day, but in this instance you could clearly see on our waiters face that us not ordering a meal WAS his bad day. Needless to say La Hacienda goes on my never again list. The whole time I was having deja vu because I could have sworn I had a client tell me the exact same thing about the view not being very good and a glob of glue. lol

On our last trip, I tried Teppan Edo (Epcot, Japan) for the first time and I fell in love with that restaurant! I never had Hibachi style food before and we all loved it! We even booked another reservation for later during our trip!

Eating at sit down restaurant is a really big part of trip and something we always look forward to! We also discovered Via Napoli! It was soooooo good!

I don’t really have any restaurant that I don’t appreciate very much! I always seem to find something good on the menu!

I tried Boma for the first time last night. I’d visit again and I liked it, I just don’t think everything worked with my tastebuds.

Now I visited Garden Grill last week for the first time, and it was AMAZING. Just take my word for it.

Via Napoli in EPCOT was not very good. I’m NOT a foodie so I am very forgiving when it comes to food but it simply was average. Big River Grille at Boardwalk has disappointed us tremendously twice. Forgotten orders, overpriced, we vowed never to go back there. We do however LOVE the simple Boardwalk To Go hut. Great dogs, burgers, you name it. And one night when they were closing the kid gave us a ton of free stuff he was throwing out. First time that’s ever happened to us in WDW.

So we have an ADR at 50’s Prime Time this October. After reading what some of you wrote, I hope we have good interactions because that’s what we’re going for! People shouldn’t be so easily offended, that’s part of the fun, and if they think that’s bad they should try Dick’s Last Resort – now that’s borderline offensive! Last time we did Prime Time was 2011 and it was fantastic  hoping for the best next trip, especially being hubby’s first meal at Prime Time.

To get more interaction, just misbehave. Elbows on the table, don’t set the table and shoot the paper rockets (paper wrapper on the straws). That on will get you a sentence of sweeping the room…. don’t ask how I know ;)

Agreed on these two restaurants. Via Napoli, everyone raves about their pizza. Let me tell you, that pizza stinks and is expensive. I live in CT. and we have pizza down pat. I feel bad for those souls who think that this is good pizza.
Big River Grille. Ate there once, I’m all set. I think I had a pulled pork sandwich. I had more grizzle and fat than meat. Never went back. Service wasn’t stellar either.
