I have a great idea! Disney needs to move your bags and put everything in the new room just like you had it in the old room. Wouldn’t that be cool – you come in and everything is just like you left it but in a new room! (or creepy, depending on how you look at it) I prefer cool!

I actually was thinking something like this. I mean, maybe not unpacking your stuff, but if you at least just brought it down the concierge and were like “ok checking out, we’re transferring to the XXXX resort” and they’d send your bags over and then when they get to the new hotel, they have a “staging area” for the bags of new incoming guests and when rooms are ready, they just take your bags up for you and then you just physically have to check in and get your key but your stuff is already there.

Found that the proper description for this is “split-stay” LOL Anyway, I remember arriving on some of our trips pretty late in the evening, in time to eat at the hotel bar. I dunno, seems like a waste of money to make our first night’s stay at a deluxe resort when we will only have time to eat and sleep. This would definitely be easier for one or two adults. It would definitely not be cost effective to buy a refillable mug :| It would be fun to make ADRs though….and tailor them to the area where we are staying.

In my hopping experience, it’s always better to move up at the end of the trip, lol! If you’ll be staying a couple nights at a deluxe, I’d save those for the end of the trip. Also, I could be totally wrong on this, but can you just buy one refillable mug and use it for the whole trip? My family always gets the dining plan so we get the mugs with that, but they’re always good for about 2 weeks, even after our check-out date! And you can use the mugs at all of the resorts. I’ve never bought one before, so I’m not sure if there are length restrictions on them, but if not, that could be an option!

You’re right about the mug….it’s good for 14 days no matter which resort to check in to. Once you buy it at the first resort, it will work for 14 days. :)
