Resort Hopping

I’ve never done this, but I will be following this thread closely because its something we’ve talked about doing!
I’ve resort hopped quite a bit, but it’s usually spread out over longer trips. I have had a couple 5-day trips where I’ve stayed in 2 different resorts. It’s fun and definitely a great way to try out lots of the resorts! I will say, though, that it can get a little tough on shorter trips, mostly because of the packing up and moving around. It does cut some time out of your vacation simply because of the logistics of it. The biggest con to me is that you have to check out of one resort by 11:00 a.m., but your next room might not be ready until 3:00 p.m. or later, so you might be in limbo a little bit. But, if you know ahead of time that you might spend some time waiting on your room to be ready at the new resort or waiting for bell services to transfer your bags, that shouldn’t be too big of a deal!

I thought about that. With text messaging and magic bands….we could avoid the check-in, check-out process maybe. I also thought it would help the process to rent a car. I’ve read about couples doing this…like one night at each…but I think that would be too stressful. Although, affordability would be a consideration. Maybe only one night at a more expensive resort, and several nights at a moderate. I dunno.

That is a great idea, you could try a more expensive resort for a night or two but the rest of the week at a more affordable one.

We did the split resort thing…. not a fan. I hate packing and unpacking and getting settled in etc. I prefer to stay at one place for the duration….. this is just me though. If it tickles your fancy, then by all means, do it.
That sounds like a lot of fun! It will definitely take come creative packing and a little extra work with the logistics of it all but what a way to experience a lot of the World! I was forced to do this a little on my upcoming trip when we extended it by a couple days, but we’re only moving from the Yacht Club to the Dolphin so we can just walk there

Anyway, I remember arriving on some of our trips pretty late in the evening, in time to eat at the hotel bar. I dunno, seems like a waste of money to make our first night’s stay at a deluxe resort when we will only have time to eat and sleep. This would definitely be easier for one or two adults. It would definitely not be cost effective to buy a refillable mug :| It would be fun to make ADRs though….and tailor them to the area where we are staying.
