POFQ was very nice when my hubby and I went just the two of us. Feels much more “grown up” to me than kiddish…in fact the hubby didn’t like the look of it…he thought it felt like an old person’s place. ha!!

I think this is why I liked it so much… LOL LOL LOL

@Acamm that’s why i got us a Cars room at AoA this June…something more “Disney” and kid-like for my hubby! of course three beds and an extra bathroom is a selling point for sure!

@imarebelpilot And when I plan my DL trip for 2018, I’m most definitely going to be coming to you with a billion questions! :D

I would also hit up @eeyorepoohfan as she’s out here a lot too and since she’s technically an “out of towner” she stays down there longer than I do. She might have a bit more advice on hotels for extended stays.

@Acamm Is there a specific building you request?

Yes!! I’m absolutely happy to help with DL questions!!! We usually do 5-6 day trips! I can tell you the pros and cons of staying in certain areas, good prices, etc!

I think POFQ has been covered pretty well, and I can second just about all sentiments. My wife and I actually enjoyed the pool, though. It was not busy at all, and the theming was fun. Scat Cats is a great place to relax for some live music and an adult beverage. Bussing was fine on our trip. Food court was small, but we typically only eat there for breakfast (if at all).

Have never stayed at Boardwalk, but my guess is that location is the biggest plus. It is on my list to ‘must stay’ at some point.

Either way, have a magical time!

@acamm Is there a specific building you request?

Yes, Building 4 is closest to the main building (food, front desk, gift shop, etc) and closest to the bus stop, OR Building 5 which is closest to the pool and fairly close to the bus stop and main building. No building is really far from anything though because its so teeny :) http://www.portorleans.org/frenchquarter-info.php

I never stayed at the Boardwalk but stayed in the area.
    Pro’s
    – 2 less buses to the Parks. The boat brings you to both Hollywood Studios and World Showcase Epcot. The back entrance to World Showcase Epcot is always less crowded than the Main entrance and if you stay for the fireworks at night in Epcot you do not have to walk all the way to the front of the Park when leaving at night.
    – The Boardwalk is open later than the Parks so if you like to stay up late you can stroll & get dessert or a drink at the one of the many bars. Alot of grown up entertainment like Jellyrolls or the Dance Hall.
    – If you go to MK or AK during the day a quick boatride to HS or Epcot for a stroll is always available at night as long as you have a Park Hopper Pass.
    – People watching from your balcony if you have that view.
    – Great restaurants around the Boardwalk & 3 great non-Disney restaurants in the Swan & Dolphin (Shula’s, Il Mulino & Bluzoo) which are great.
    – Great area for Adults and older kids 16 & up. Older kids can stroll the boardwalk w/o adult supervision & the ESPN sports bar is nice for them too (Had to watch the Stanley Cup playoffs there one year)

    Cons
    – Boardwalk is more $$$
    – Can be noisy from your room overlooking the boardwalk from your balcony.
    – If you are on the far end of Resort it can seem like a long walk from the boat if you are tired at night.
    – Bus route to MK & AK you usually have to stop at 3-5 other resorts on certain schedules & it seems like it takes forever.

@Acamm if you are considering AoA, I can be of assistance… We stayed 10 days in the Nemo suites for Marathon Weekend 2016. Great experience there
