    A friend posed this question…
If you stay off property and drive and park at Disney Springs, why can’t you bus to say, the Boardwalk and then walk to Epcot and save the parking fee.

    Thoughts?

Nothing prevents it, however buses to and from DS don’t run early so you would never get to the park early in the day. It’s also not all that short of a walk from the Boardwalk resorts to the park. It just seems way more trouble than it would be worth to just pay to park and save the time and hassle.

Nascfan hit it on the head. It could be done, but the time involved would be a deterrent for me. If you were really looking to game the system, you would probably be better off parking at DS, walking to or taking the boat to Saratoga Springs, then taking a bus to EPCOT. Even that would be a lot of effort to save the parking fee.

Not that I have any experience here but I am all about convenience. If it costs me a few extra bucks to save time, I will 100% do it. All of this sounds like A LOT of work to save a few dollars.

@Chelle and I just stayed at the Hilton right by Disney Springs. We were able to walk to DS within 15 minutes. You could take the bus from there but they only take you to a resort, not a theme park. If you want to avoid parking fees (which are way too costly and I think Disney really rips the $ right out of your wallet there), then it’s best to stay on Disney property.

You can definitely park at Disney Springs to avoid the theme park parking charges, and by that I mean, it is possible for sure. I’m not saying I encourage it or would do it myself. Like others said, it’s a lot of effort and better to stay at a resort, but then to some people the savings on parking would be worth it. I heard that this was a big problem before parking was expanded at DTD and therefore Disney considered charging for parking at Disney Springs.

The walk from BW or YC/BC to the International Gateway or even DHS is not bad. Although with Minnie Vans (or generic Lyft depending on destination) getting anywhere on property is pretty easy
