On our 6th day we were into our full WDW “routine”. We awoke and had our traditional Disney in-room breakfast of cold cereal, bananas, and french press coffee (Joffrey’s of course :) ). We then boarded the Monorail :monorail: for Magic Kingdom!

We got there shortly after opening and went to Frontierland. :woodyhat: Magic Kingdom was considerably more crowded than Epcot, but that is to be expected. The crowds still weren’t too bad though. Quite manageable. We all but walked on Splash Mountain and decided to get a little creative with the on-ride photo ;) Afterward we went around and got in line a second time and waited about 10 minutes with at 20-minute posted wait.

After that, we used our first FP for Big Thunder Mountain. There was a 20 minute posted wait there too, but waiting in that queue can get unfun very quickly in the heat.

Another fun ride behind us, we strolled into Adventureland and got in line for Pirates of the Caribbean :sparrow: There was a posted 20 minute wait there too (seeing a trend?). We didn’t wait more than 10 minutes to get on and tried to have some fun with that awkward ride photo too. From there we went to the Jungle Cruise for our next FP. There was a 40-minute posted wait which we were glad to bypass. Our skipper did a very good job! We’ve had a good streak with skippers on that ride the past few visits.

From there we walked right into the next show for the Tiki Room – one of our must-do classic shows – and then went to Liberty Square. We used our FP for Haunted Mansion :hatbox: where there was a 60-minute posted wait :surprised: Glad to see that attraction retain such a high popularity though :leota: We stopped by the PhotoPass photographer at the exit. Like our T-Shirts?

    …continued…

After our ride through the Haunted Mansion, we went to lunch at Columbia Harbor House. It had been a while since I had eaten there and I was excited to go back :)

We ordered and split the Lobster Roll (photo) and the Shrimp & Fish combo (photo). All of it was very good and I’m so glad they don’t skimp on the Lobster in the Lobster Roll (Disney Cruise Line, take notes here ;) ). Of course we dined on the second floor where it was relatively quiet.

After lunch we enjoyed a showing of Mickey’s PhilharMagic before leaving the park for the day. We went back to the room and took a nap. I did some strolling around the Polynesian too. At around 4:30 we got ready for dinner.

Donning our matching Hawaiian attire (photo), we hopped on the monorail to the Grand Floridian for our 5:30 dinner at Citrico’s! When we were seated we were given the menu (photo). Notice anything special about it? :) They let us take these menus home as a keepsake. It was a really nice touch!

    …continued…

To add to the enjoyment of our anniversary celebration, our waiter delivered complementary campaign to our table :)

We had a delightful view of the Grand Floridian gardens and the open kitchen. Our server was extremely helpful and attentive and gave us a few suggestions from the menu, which did change my mind about what I was originally intent on ordering and I’m so glad he did!

I was originally going to get the filet, but our server recommended the Red Wine-braised Beef Short Ribs (with polenta, exotic mushrooms, seasonal greens, pickled cipollini, and gremolata). He said the dish had been on the menu for 15 years and was slow roasted for hours and came fork tender. Anything that can last on a Disney menu for 15 years is something I need to try! I also got the wine pairing with it. The short ribs were indeed fork tender and the whole thing was a flavorful sensation. The wine pairing was perfect too!

The entree Christy ordered was something pre-planned, but also recommended by our server. She got the Wild-Caught Halibut (with Saffron Jasmine Rice, Cedar Key Clams, Calico Scallops, and Chorizo Vinaigrette). Since we sampled each other’s dishes, I can say this one was definitely a very good dish too! We love good seafood and this was, indeed, good seafood!

    ***concluded***

For dessert…well we HAD to order dessert!!!…we got the tasting of gelato (vanilla, mocha, and chocolate) and the Key Lime Pie with Mango Sorbet.

They came complete with Happy Anniversary chocolates!

The Key Lime Pie was excellent, sweet and not too tart. The gelato was the stuff dreams are made of! I was surprised to find my favorite of the three flavors was the vanilla :surprised: I usually prefer any flavor but vanilla, but this vanilla was like WHOA vanilla!

After dinner, we did some shopping, both at the Floridian, and then back at the Polynesian. We got some Dole Whips :dole: :dole: and enjoyed the Happily Ever After fireworks from the Polynesian beach

From there we just went back to our room and enjoyed the night’s view (photo).

You guys are too funny on your ride photos!!!! Love it!!!! I’m glad you were able to so many rides in in such a short time that morning, and most under the posted wait time! Columbia Harbour House is always a solid choice! Always good food! We love sitting upstairs too! I love your matching shirts! And how cool that they gave you a souvenir menu! They really went above and beyond and made sure you made good choices for your dinners! They look awesome! And so does dessert! I am with you, I don’t lean towards getting vanilla, but every once in a while you get one that is just amazing! What a great way to end your evening!!
