Alright after much absence on here, I’ll dig back into this trip report!

So Justin & Christy, you just completed your first Disney Cruise! What are you going to do next? :willie:

We’re going to Disney World!!! :)

Well truth be told, as soon as we got off the ship, I was really thinking, “Forget Walt Disney World. Let me back on the ship!” Yeah it was really that great and honestly, if we get around to having kids, we’re probably more likely to break them in on a cruise than at the parks because, having seen the parents around us with their kids, the cruise just seemed so much easier and more enjoyable for them.

That said, we were off to Walt Disney World and our first stop was Epcot as you can tell from the photo.

We got there just in time for our FP at Spaceship Earth :se: Halfway through the ride though, Judi Dench went silent, and that whole designing your future thing at the end didn’t work either. It was just our vehicle. We told the CM at the end and they offered us another ride, but we declined since we had a FP for Soarin’ to get to.

Epcot largely didn’t seem too crowded for mid-morning at all, even at the Land pavilion :land: There was a 40-minute standby wait for Soarin’ which isn’t too shabby. Our FPs got us on really quick and we got a nearly front and center seat which is always good

After that, we used our final FP at Living with the Land. The first two FPs we got to toward the end of our windows, so that’s how we managed these all back-to-back-to-back. Still love Living with the Land! And afterward a delightful lunch at Sunshine Seasons! I got the Mongolian Beef which is top notch  Christy got the ahi-tuna noodle bowl which was just OK. The sauce they put on it was a bit overwhelming.

From there, a stop at Club Cool. We skipped the Beverly but got amusement from others who were trying it LOL Fanta Melon Frosty is where it’s at! :)

Then we decided a stroll around World Showcase was in order. We bought Mochi Ice Cream in Japan for dessert  The strawberry is probably the best flavor! I highly recommend trying it if you get around to it. It’s ice cream in a rice dough pouch, so it makes a good finger food. You get 6 pieces in a box for $8.00 which is a reasonable price for dining out. I’ve only seen it cheaper at the grocery store, if they offer it.

We walked by the America Gardens theater and noticed they were having periodic shows of “Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Live” there so we decided to check it out. Star Lord was there, and Gamora was able to pull herself together for the show too ;) As you can see from the photo, they were in character! It was a fun show to watch and we were glad we stopped by :)

After the show, we saw we had a text. Our room was ready :) So we made our way to the Monorail…Por Favor Mantengase Alejado de las Puertas! :monorail:

    …continued…

Well our room was at the Polynesian Village Resort :moana:

We used our points to score a Deluxe Studio with a Lake View for 4 nights

As you can see from the photos, it was another terrible room with another terrible view ;)

These rooms also have a split bath and are the most spacious studios on property now (yes they even beat the ones at Old Key West in square footage)! There is a tub/shower, toilet, and sink in one bathroom, and then a sink and shower with rain shower head in the other bathroom. The former is so spacious that guests could lay out a sleeping bag and crash on the floor in there if they wanted to ;) The room also comes with coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave, and wet bar sink, queen size bed, pull out sofa, and twin size Murphy bed under the TV.

We settled into our room for a while and took a short nap. Then we headed back out to Epcot for dinner and more World Showcase time.

    ***concluded***

We got back to a still not crowded Epcot :) The Toy Story Land affect is still in effect!

Our dinner was at Via Napoli. This was a first for both of us. Christy, being from New Jersey, was skeptical about Italian food and even more so about pizza. I assured her that this was a different kind of pizza where all the ingredients are imported from Italy, even the water!

After much deliberation over the menu, we decided to get two personal pizzas and split them. We got the Broccolini and the Margherita (photos).

The Broccolini was a white pizza with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, porchetta, robiola, and broccolini.

The Margherita is a “standard” pizza that they use as a base and you can add additional toppings of choice but we chose not to.

Both pizzas were extremely good. The margherita was delightfully refreshing after having slices of the heavier broccolini pizza.

We experienced excellent service here and decided it is a restaurant we would gladly return to in the future.

After dinner we strolled around the rest of World Showcase, stopping mainly to see the new display in the Stave Church about the Norse gods: Odin, Thor, Loki, and Frigga. It was an intriguing display and the Marvel universe holds pretty closely to the mythology. We also looked at the newer stuff they had in the Mexico pavilion revolving around the Day of the Dead and Coco. Christy, being an Art teacher, really enjoyed the artwork there.

Afterward we took up position on the bridge by Mexico to see IllumiNations. We didn’t have any trouble getting a good view even though it was only 10 minutes away from starting. We enjoyed the show and then stopped in Mouse Gears for some shopping while the crowds rushed by to the exit. Then we departed on the monorail ourselves, went back to our room and turned in for the night.

What a great day at Epcot! Love the view from your room! If you’ve got to get off the ship, this was a pretty good way to do it.

Oh no, a silent Judi Dench! I’ve had a friend where the entire ride was silent! I’d love to experience that someday.

Wahoo! Glad to see your continuation!!! How strange about your ride car going silent! We’ve had glitches on SSE, but usually it comes to our photos not loading or the screen being glitchy. Great use of your FP’s too! The Mochi Ice Cream sounds really interesting! We may have to give it a try! What a horrible view you had at the Poly! ;) I would demand a refund!! ;) It’s so stunning! I would love to stay there one day! You had the perfect view of the castle! That it a huge Deluxe Studio! That would really help getting ready in the mornings go quicker, especially for families since it has a split bathroom! We really want to try Via Napoli!! But we always seem to go at food festival time and it’s really hard to convince ourselves to plan a sit down meal when there are so many awesome foods to try at the food booths! Sounds like a great first day at the parks!

@eeyorepoohfan Yeah if it was Food & Wine time, I would/have just purchased food from all the wonderful kiosks. How can you not? ;)

I think it’s a requirement to just purchase foods from all of the food booths! ;)
