On my Dashboard, it is not counting my points. It says I have done two things since rating Epcot – Future World – Magic Journeys ~ True Colors. I have done lots of likes and a few comments since then yet it isn’t counting any of those points. Any thoughts? Thanks!
February 28, 2017 at 11:43 pm #15673So it is counting comments, friendships, and posts, but is not counting adding an activity to favorites.
March 1, 2017 at 6:51 am #15676I don’t know about adding activity to favorites but only the first person to like something gets the points. cth0511 discovered that.

Well then, I have to remove this. Now there are no points for liking activities. :|

March 1, 2017 at 9:36 am #15705March 1, 2017 at 9:41 am #15706I give up. To heck with the point thing. I’m just going to listen to the music and give up on the rest of the site. Too complicated!
March 1, 2017 at 10:00 am #15711you guys are too funny. i always found the points for “likes” unpredictable at best. sometimes i would get them and sometimes i wouldn’t. oh well…i’ll just sit in my lucky #7th place and watch the top three panic.
March 1, 2017 at 10:14 am #15713No panic here. I’m actually kind of glad there won’t be points for liking things anymore. Maybe I should put that in Unpopular Opinions! To me, this will truly show a better record of how active people really are on the site, commenting, forums, interacting with each other, and that’s a good thing in my opinion. I think the point watching had more of a negative effect to some degree. Sure the battles have been fun to watch and funny. But D-Cot is more than that, much more. It’s a place for Disney fans to gather and get to know each other and celebrate their love for the parks, music, movies, etc. I’d much rather talk to my fellow members and friends than just rack up points for liking something. Anywho, those are my thoughts.

It’s really not that complicated unless you were only here to get points and level up. The experience level is to show people’s activeness on the site, those who contribute from those who “lurk”. If you’re an active member of the community, your points reflect that and you shouldn’t be concerned. If you just want to be passive and not participate, the points will reflect that also. This has become skewed lately by people who go hard at the site trying to level up as fast as they can, so people who’ve been here for 5 weeks pass people who’ve been here for 5 years. I think the removal of points for liking will make it harder for people to level up without actually contributing in a productive way to the site and I think that’s a good thing
March 1, 2017 at 10:33 am #15720Well said @nascfan and @starbee
As much fun as it is to pick on folks like @Jloosh78 when you beat them to the next level I think of it more as a bonus for being around and being involved and engaging and playing some of the thread games. I like having the points be legitimate. It’s good stuff. And I thoroughly enjoy our chats and Disney-related musings on here.

disneyfan196656 XP– I like stuff just because I like what was said – not to get points (as you can tell from my level…) I only get to be on d-cot while I am at work so I am not as active as I would like to be but I love reading what others have to say and think.

I agree! A nice bonus for things you were going to do anyway :mickey: I enjoy sharing experiences and the other Disney things we talk about here. At one point Mouse Chat was dead with everybody busy leveling up instead. That made me sad. I enjoy talking with folks on Mouse Chat. If one gets a kick out of moving up and likes to level up quickly, might I suggest video games instead?

Me too! Now we can get back to people actually liking things and not liking things for points
