    Does anyone know if everyone gets the larger “Magic Band 2” now?

    Since I am in Canada and can’t get mine shipped and only pick them up at check in I am curious!

    When you visit MyDisneyExperience.com does it give you the option to customize MagicBand 2 bands? Here is a link to an article I found dated February 13, 2017. This paragraph makes it sound as though you would be getting the new MagicBands:

    “And if you are a new Passholder or you recently renewed your Pass, you should already be enjoying your new solid-color MagicBand 2 as they are sent to as part of your benefits. Guests who book a Disney resort stay have the opportunity to receive their newly designed, solid-color MagicBand 2 at home.”

    When I customized online they looked like the old format, we’re not passholders. :(

    Based on the text in the article, the indication is that any guest who books a stay at a Disney resort would have the opportunity to receive the new bands, not just passholders. Hopefully that will be the case for you. Might be worth a phone call to find out. Or, you could send Chelle a direct message. I bet she would know! :) :up:

    yeah i don’t get it…mine just says magic bands (no 2). i am supposed to get new “passholder” bands on top of the ones i get for my hotel reservation. so i guess i can just order a set for fun? i never know which ones are active!

    We should be getting the Magic Band 2 for our April trip. When I went on to select colors, it didn’t specify it was for the new version. We thought we would get them for our January trip, based on earlier Disney Parks Blog information. But we received the old style. We only saw a handful of people with version 2 then.

    @jamiedawn27     all of your bands will show in My Disney Experience and tells you which are active. My hubby and I each have at least 5-6 active bands! So we always request new ones for each trip. And take a backup one too! That way, we can change colors out if we want to. As long as they show they are linked to your account, you can use any that you have! If you choose to take an older one, take a newer one with as well, just in case the battery does die. They say they have a 2 year battery, but we have some that are over 2.5 years.

    @eeyorepoohfan I have several and started putting them in baggies and dating them so I remember! I think I am going to put the date in the name next time. ;)

    So how do I know if I get the version 2? Will it say on the MDE or will I just find out when they arrive?

    I’m wondering if we will just know when they arrive? I did just go on to get our AP renewal ones because we hadn’t done that yet. So I’m hoping those are the new ones! I just started thinking about putting dates in the names too! I did our first initial 2017AP for the new AP ones. I did abbreviations for our Star Wars Half Marathon trip in April too.

    I hope I get an old style Magic Band for my trip, but I bet I won’t because we’ll be there in October. I don’t like the weird shape of the new bands :down:

    I like the new look, too! I’ve only ever used the ones that Disney would send us in advance of our trip, but I may order one of the 45th anniversary ones for the October trip. :up:

    That’s so weird, when we checked in for our night at POFQ they gave us all the old style bands. They must have been trying to get rid of them :p
