It’s my favorite place on earth!! And I really hope that the changes stay within the spirit of the original.
If it becomes just another character park, I will not be happy!

    Oh exactly!!! totally agree

I can’t wait for Epcot Forever! I want it nooooooooooooooow!!!! :goofy: It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out. Epcot has so many unique and amazing tunes.

same! i’m gonna miss illuminations but epcot has such a fun history!!

that’s what it’s starting to look like though :( between replacing maelstrom with frozen (which i actually prefer lol), and then adding ratatouille and guardians of the galaxy, it seems like it’s gonna become a character park.

Unfortunately I don’t think they will stay within the spirit as you said. Disney has become so money grubbing over the years that it will most definitely lose that spirit and cater to getting as many children interested in that park as they can with IP. They don’t care at all to keep our adult retreat the way it is. They’re going to do whatever it takes to drag in the strollers and massive crowds. :( I hate the idea of my favorite park turning into the MK. I already mourn for the Epcot of the 80’s and 90’s. I thought it was amazing on my first trip and it’s what made me fall in love with WDW. The powers that be have been working round the clock to disinterest the likes of me it seems.

The Disney hubby and I are planning sort of an impromptu, on a shoestring budget type of trip in May or June for a few days just to see Illuminations one more time. We want to go in November or December for our 40th anniversary, but it will be gone by then, so possibly driving for two LONG days just to see Illuminations one last time. It will be worth it!

One thing that made me fall in love with Epcot is that about 9:00 pm, if you walk around the back like Mission Space, it is so quiet…or the times we have gone it has been. It is like you are the only ones in the park.

I’d love to go!!..I’ve got a cart loaded with a 10 day trip as we speak!
Just need the $10,000 to make it happen (all in number for the 4 of us).

I’m sad because it’s been a long time since I have seen the entire show, my last trip we were running late and made it in time for the fireworks :(
