The last Illuminations will take place September 30. Then a new show “Epcot Forever,” will debut on October 1, and continue into 2020. According to Disney Parks Blog, “the show will take us on a journey through the past, present and future of Epcot. Featuring a stirring collection of songs that paint a colorful picture of the park, this nighttime extravaganza will offer both a trip down memory lane and a look towards the future and all the magical possibilities still to come.” There’s no new information on the next show following Epcot Forever.
I love Illuminations, so I’m sad to see it go, but I can’t wait to see Epcot forever!! It sounds so cool! I guess I’ll have to plan another trip before that one is replaced too
April 10, 2019 at 8:32 am #107067hmm… i’m gonna post this again without the link, because mine has a giant grey box blocking out everything i wrote, for whatever reason

April 10, 2019 at 11:25 am #107113Anyone else see this “Epcot Forever” as a “farewell” to EPCOT?
Seems to me that if it is changing again toward the end of 2020 that the original thoughts behind EPCOT will be going away with the renovations.April 10, 2019 at 11:44 am #107116I am sad to see it go, but can’t believe its been 20 years since the Millennium celebration!!! I saw it when it first started at end of 1999 and then so many times in 2000 I will miss the Holiday version the most, with the Let There Be peace On Earth ending.
@AVITWeb I really hope not. Epcot totally fuels most of my desire to go to WDW its my favorite place, just gives the “aahhhh” feeling. They better not change tooooo much of it.April 10, 2019 at 11:46 am #107117I’m going to miss Illuminations so much. I have so many great memories of watching it with my mom. Hopefully we can see it once more, but I doubt it. I just love that show. I hope the new one is just as good or better.

Right?!
April 10, 2019 at 12:07 pm #107120I hope the new one is just as good or better.
I hope so too and I think it will be. Happily Ever After turned out to be so incredible that I don’t miss Wishes at all. If they keep to that level I think I’ll be happy with the replacement, even though I will still miss Illuminations

Seems to me that if it is changing again toward the end of 2020 that the original thoughts behind EPCOT will be going away with the renovations.that’s an interesting thought… i see it as more of a celebration of epcot and the history of the park, since WDW will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2021. they are adding a lot of IP attractions though, so who knows. It does feel like epcot’s original concept is changing….
April 10, 2019 at 8:19 pm #107138I can’t wait for Epcot Forever! I want it nooooooooooooooow!!!! It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out. Epcot has so many unique and amazing tunes.
April 11, 2019 at 10:52 am #107163It’s my favorite place on earth!! And I really hope that the changes stay within the spirit of the original.
If it becomes just another character park, I will not be happy!
