I think I’ve been here long enough to have finally figured this out…
My name is Carly Frost. Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska by a single mom with 4 kids, so I didn’t get to experience Disney World until I met my boyfriend (now husband) when I was 23. His family enjoyed trips to Disney World about every 3 years, so I guess I married into a good family! Our first trip was in 2005-2006 right after Christmas into New Year’s. We’ve been 4 more times since then, planning a trip about every 2-3 years, so I’ve become the Disney World know-it-all to my friends and family. I’ve helped plan several trips for them. Our last trip about a year ago included our 3 year old son, Dax for the first time, and sadly, we’re not scheduled to go back until 2019. I am also a HUGE Harry Potter nerd, so when we go to Orlando we always make time to head over to that other park for a few days to drink my weight in butterbeer…but I even it out by then drinking my weight in Dole Whip floats!April 27, 2017 at 9:41 am #24324

And hey, even a far off Disney trip is still better than no Disney trip. Get that countdown going, girl! And welcome !
April 27, 2017 at 9:46 am #24330Welcome Carly! Yes, a countdown is better than no countdown at all. I know that every 3 years or so, did that so much when our daughter was younger.

April 27, 2017 at 9:53 am #24341Welcome Carly! glad to see another Universal fan too I’m with everyone else, a trip is still a trip! When I was growing up we would go to WDW every year because my parents owned DVC. As an adult, my trips have shifted to every other year at best, so I understand.

Unklecleetus0 XPIn 2004 I split time between Mission Space in the after ride game there called Mission Space Race and Innoventions. There was a tree game in Innoventions I presented. I went back in 2006 and worked in the Epcot parking lot driving the tram, assisting with parking cars. I loved working in the parking lot.

@unklecleetus Cool! When I think of Cast Members I don’t often think of the ones working the parking lots, and definitely wouldn’t think of it being as enjoyable as other things inside the parks, but glad you enjoyed it!April 27, 2017 at 10:41 am #24376@unklecleetus I would definitely enjoy driving the trams! (Or the monorail @sej101!) Always thought it would be cool to work with the draft horses or the WDWRR, too! Met a CM who worked the riverboat, oiling the steam engines and monitoring the boiler. That was most of what I spent my boat ride doing — watching the engines!

robertlc0 XPHi!
My name is Bob. I live in Long Beach, MS on the Gulf Coast.
My family and I are Disney fanatics and have been to WDW 5 times as a family while my wife and I have been a total of 7 times.
I own the WDW Pensieve podcast (www.wdwpensieve.com) and my wife owns/runs Mad Hatter Radio (www.madhatterradio.net).
Our plans are to retire to Orlando and get jobs at WDW. And maybe become certified BBQ judges to have a side hustle.
We love Disney and Disney music & audio of all kinds!
Glad to find a place with similar people!
April 27, 2017 at 11:26 am #24389Welcome @robertlc ! I’ve been to Long Beach before, helping folks recover from Katrina. Also got to enjoy a nice meal at Darwell’s while there.

@Disneydana- Count me in on the LwtL fan club. One of my absolute favorites.
Thank you so much! I’m listening to it right now! It’s the first one I go to when I get online.
