I don’t remember when we all woke up, but I think it was actually still morning ;) I brewed us all a french press pot of Joffrey’s Citricos blend and grabbed a bit of brunch. While I waited for Christy and Mom to get ready to spend some time on the beach, I kicked back and read another chapter of Never Call Retreat.

And so a little after noon, we set out for the beach! It took us 12 minutes to walk there at a leisurely pace. The humidity was strong. The temperature in the mid-80s, but when we got out to the sand, the breeze coming off the ocean was very refreshing! I settled into my usual beach routine. I sat down and read another chapter of my book, then went swimming, then read another chapter. The water was cool, but not cold and calm. The tide was going out so it was a long walk in the water to waste-deep. We were out there for about 3 hours soaking up the sun and relaxing. Dad decided to relax back at the condo with Maverick since he burns easily

Around 3:00 we headed back and got ready to go out to dinner. We had plans to go to Skull Creek Boathouse for dinner and the place is so popular that if you show up after 5:00, you’ll be waiting a while for a table (no reservations). We got there at 4:15  and were seated immediately – at the same table we sat at last year! LOL Thankfully it’s a good table by the window and looks out at the back deck and out to the Harbor River.

We enjoyed a great seafood dinner including the appetizer sampler (calamari, fried pickles, hush puppies, and jumbo coconut battered shrimp with dipping sauces) and the seafood chowder! I ordered a broiled “Captain’s Catch” which had stuffed flounder, deviled crab, shrimp and sea scallops! All of it was AH-JUNE-ZING ;) (That’s AH-MAY-ZING but in June) I also got a pina colada well because vacation! :mickey: :mint: I don’t remember what everyone else had, but it was all seafood and everyone loved what they ordered :)

There are MANY great restaurants at Hilton Head, but this one makes it tough to want to try other places.

After dinner we stopped over at the Disney Hilton Head Resort to stroll the grounds and stop at the mercantile. It is truly a beautiful resort with lots to do, but we couldn’t bring Maverick if we stayed there :( Of course when we went to the mercantile we were all sure to get some Mickey Premium ice cream bars! :mbar: :mbar: :mbar: :mbar:

We then went back to the condo and took Maverick out to the beach so he could go swimming. He may be 7 years old, but being out in the water seemed to take 2 or 3 years off his age. He was like a young pup again and had a great time! He had more energy than I’ve seen in a year. At dusk we walked back, Maverick was wet now, but would later dry and his fur coat would be nice and shiny and smell pretty good too! :goofy: We finished watching The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey before heading to bed. What a great day!

Another relaxing day! I like your methods of reading a chapter, then going in the water, then reading a chapter! I’m not a big seafood fan, but my hubby is! I’m sure I would find something to eat there though! My hubby would be in food heaven!!!! I’m so glad Maverick enjoyed his swim time to bring out his inner pup again!!! Bummer that you can’t take him to Disney’s resort but I’m glad you could pop by for a :mbar: :mbar: !!!! YUM!!!!!! Great job finishing up the movie and relaxing too!!
