Hi all,

We’re new DVC members. Wondering if anyone has used either WDW or 3rd Party grocery delivery services, and how they were. Any help would be awesome.

Hi @macraigimm !! Last year we used Garden Grocer and we really loved it. We got bananas and muffins and coffee creamer and granola bars and some gluten free items as well. We really thought it was an excellent service and we are using them again this year. https://www.gardengrocer.com/ Order early and you can save a percentage off.

okay i just checked this out and altho i think the idea is awesome, $9.99 for 32 water bottles? $5.69 for lactaid milk? $4.99 for a box of cereal? No thanks. we bring our dry goods (cuz Iowa is SO much cheaper) and stop at Wal-Mart when we get there. if you have a car, it’s worth the difference in money.

I heard, although I have not tried it yet, Amazon Prime delivers SOME items like water bottles, free to the Resorts. And delivery is within 2 hours. I do not think they have perishable items but they have drinks and snacks. Must have Amazon Prime subscription. I also brought a zero water pitcher with filter to the DVC so we had filtered H2O for coffee and tea and to boil for pasta. I’m not use to the taste of Florida tap.

Also, if you do not have a car. Uber can be a very inexpensive and can bring you to Publix or Winn Dixie.

We have Amazon Prime and we just placed an order late, two days before arriving, with delivery to the hotel… Worked out great for us. Snacks, toiletries, detergent, and carb gels for our races.

We were happy with the Grocery Service because our order was there at the resort when we checked in, and we didn’t have to spend time at the grocery store. Also, the bell services at the resort kept the cold items refrigerated for us (non dairy coffee creamer, etc) which was really nice. The apples and bananas that we ordered were perfect with no bruising and were very fresh too. I was really impressed with the gluten free breakfast options, and the muffins that I bought were absolutely delicious. I was really happy with the service, and will be using them again purely for convenience sake. I don’t mind spending a few extra dollars for something that is going to save me time in the long run.

If we drive, we shop for our perishables in Florida

If we fly and we have a large enough grocery order ($40 or more) which is a rare thing for us, then we use Garden Grocer and have not been disappointed with their service.

If we fly and we’re just doing some easy breakfasts in, we now take a spare bag (since we fly Southwest and they allow 2 checked bags per person with no additional charge) with our non perishables inside and then just buy milk, coffee creamer etc at the resort. Sure it’s not the best price, but it’s suitable and more convenient.

Thanks all! We typically fly so bringing our own food isn’t always an easy task. We did use Amazon Prime Now to get water and some other snacks which was great because it was comparable to shopping in-store. Our neighbors are a family of five who are coming down, so this information will be very helpful. Convenience is sometimes worth the price!
