I will miss the Great Movie Ride so much. What I will miss the most is the entrance. I love that it looks like you’re going onto a movie set.
August 7, 2017 at 12:48 pm #43160I will never forget the feeling of surprise the first time my boat stopped and was ‘hijacked’! (I was in the Western portion at the time; it wasn’t until a few years later I realized it also happens in the mob portion!) After that, I LOVED sharing the ride with first timers to watch their reactions!
I believe both shirts are a size LARGE
August 7, 2017 at 12:53 pm #43163I feel like I should disqualify myself from the giveaway as a mod.
But anyway, here goes with what I will miss the most.
The Great Movie Ride: pretty close to everything. The ride is iconic and represented everything that the old “MGM Studios” was about in my opinion. Specifically I think I’ll miss the start, when you slowly pull away and go under the marquee, just like you are on the red carpet at some great show. I will also miss the montage at the end so much. I just can’t stop smiling when I see all those put together, and I smiled all through it when watching it Saturday with you on the ride. It makes me want to watch all of them!
Universe of Energy: the break! Seriously, that is a huge plus to have that kind of break in the parks. I will miss Stupid Judy also! I was just telling my wife the other day that they should have Bill Nye, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Ellen do a Jeopardy special with all winnings going to charity. That would be so much fun to see! It also represented so much of what Future World was intended to be in my opinion. Learning while being entertained, “edutainment” I believe I’ve seen it referenced on here.No disqualification. You are a supporter. You count!

Yeah, but I kind of feel like I “work at the radio station” like those folks are disqualified from their contests.
Administrators and moderators and their immediate families are not eligible for any prizes.August 7, 2017 at 1:44 pm #43170@nascfan I’m sure no-one here questions Steve or Chelle’s integrity. I actually home you win.
August 7, 2017 at 2:06 pm #43177Yeah, but I kind of feel like I “work at the radio station” like those folks are disqualified from their contests.
Administrators and moderators and their immediate families are not eligible for any prizes.LOL! My husband was a country radio DJ for several years when we first met and married. I am familiar with those rules. Luckily, when it was concert tickets, backstage passes and such, we could usually get them for free anyway in addition to however many they were giving away. The absolute coolest person I ever met…. Charlie Daniels. Really such a fantastic guy!
ETA…Sorry! That was just a little off-topic, don’t ya think? Oops!

That’s cool though! And for some reason my mind went straight to, “how about some backstage passes?!”

August 7, 2017 at 2:38 pm #43183I love Universe of Energy…Ellen still makes me smile every time I watch it. Her playful banter and little jokes make it for me. “Ha ha ha…I know…big piece of corn…” I have listened to it on d-cot who knows how many times. My hubby also said he’s going to miss it because it is his chance to take a nap in the air conditioning.
August 7, 2017 at 3:53 pm #43189I remember when The Studios opened and the Great Movie Ride was It! The mix of live action with AA was cool.
UOE had to go. The 40 min nap joke points to why. Personally, I liked it but the joke makes it seem boring. After all, with EEA, we would have stupid Judy, stupid Judy!
August 7, 2017 at 5:30 pm #43192People always make fun of Ellen, but we have always enjoyed it and have only skipped it once or twice. We almost always ago. It is dated, yes, but still funny. And it is a good rest off of your feet but instead of sitting on a bench, you get to experience this! And the dinos are fun. I wish they would find a place to move them somewhere.
August 7, 2017 at 5:32 pm #43193As far as Great Movie Ride, I love all of the animatronics and various scenes! It is also fun to have the special scenes with the live actors mixed in with it. These kinds of special touches will hopefully not all go away as more and more screens get added to rides. Don’t get me wrong, they are fun rides, but there is something magical about animatronics.
August 7, 2017 at 6:08 pm #43199I will miss all the details in the scene recreations in GMR, especially the Munchkinland room.
As a child of the 80s, UOE always amazed me with the dinosaurs. I’ll miss them. Thanks for the giveaway!
August 7, 2017 at 6:31 pm #43203I think I’ll miss the dinosaurs in Universe of Energy. I always enjoy looking for the nod to Fantasia in the dinosaur scene. I thought the animatronics in The Great Movie ride were good, especially the Wizard of Oz scene. I have to admit I rode the UoE more often than The Great Movie ride….
August 8, 2017 at 8:02 am #43267Honestly I loved all the costumes on display when you first went in and then just all the old film clips and music! The whole ride just gave you the feeling of old Hollywood!
