Well @jamiedawn27, you asked for it!

This is the place to talk about Disney drinks! I’ve had a fair amount of experience in this arena, so I’ll post some general thoughts and reviews as I can. Feel free to add your own too, we need to know the places to go, and what drinks should be dumped out (don’t waste time and stomach space on bad drinks my friends). So let’s get our strollers ready (for the cupholders!) and get our drink on!

I’ll start with the Best New Artist of 2016, the place that everybody should make a stop at, the Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom. This place is gorgeous, has great a great porch with comfortable outdoor seating, and some delicious drinks to boot!

Seriously, just take a look at these beautiful drinks! From left to right we have the Tempting Tigress, Snow Leopard Salvation, Annapurna Zing, and the Boto Rita. The Tempting Tigress is very different, it has an allspice dram in it, so you can definitely taste the spice in the drink! The Annapurna Zing was my drink, I’m a sucker for anything with ginger beer! It was light, but full of flavor. On a previous visit, my husband has gotten the Mustang Coffee, which has coffee, Crown Royal, brown sugar, and butter. That was the winner out of all the drinks we ordered that night, it was the surprise hit!

I think I found my new favorite place! On a recent trip we had breakfast at Ohana and asked for Lapu Lapu’s. It was a bit early our cousin told us. But to our shigrin with a little Disney magic she was able to come through with the drinks. The Lapu Lapu is a frozen pineapple hollowed out and filled with the yumminess that is RUM!! It’s a must have for us and we even make them at home now.
Not sure why I don’t have any pics to post. or if i’ve actually taken any of my drinks. I did keep tabs on the drinks I consumed at the F&W fest via the passport. But after a while everything starts tasting the same. Lol.

@jloosh78 Here you go! We spent some quality time at Tambu Lounge while waiting for Trader Sam’s to open. Here’s some of those fabulous pineapple drinks, they really scream “vacation”, don’t they?

Any of you actually been able to get into Trader Sam’s? I only had one opportunity and it was filled to capacity upon my arrival at the door. A long line waiting to get in. If you have been in, how was it?

OK, so Trader Sam’s! We went there on a Tuesday at the end of April. We planned on going there during our break from MK, but didn’t realize they didn’t open until 4 pm. We killed time at Tambu, did some coloring in the lobby (don’t judge, I can stay in the lines like nobody’s business), and headed down around 3:45. There was already a line and they were handing out pagers. Right at 4 pm they start letting the people with pagers in, in order. We were lucky and got in with the first wave, and we got a nice little table in the back corner, furthest away from the bar. All of my pictures from there are pretty crappy, they were on my phone and it’s DARK in there.

We decided to go big and order the Nautilus, which comes in a very heavy souvenir glass. Here’s the description of the drink “Barbancourt Pango Rhum, Appleton Estate Reserve Rum, Combier Crème de Pêche de Vigne Liqueur, Tropical Juices, and Falernum. Served in a souvenir Nautilus.”

Here’s how I’d rate the drink:

    Presentation: 5/5
    Taste: 4/5
    Strength/ABV: 2/5
    Value: 1/5

Was the drink a ton of fun to get that one time? Yes! For ~$50 plus tip would we ever get it again? NOPE. That is a lot of money to spend on one drink. There are a bunch of drinks on the menu that are at a lower price point, but this one seemed to be the signature drink, so we figured we’d get that!

The CMs there are amazing, there is a little show for every drink that is delivered. Each drink has its own schtick, and they were so energetic and funny! We didn’t order any food, but the table next to us did and said they were really good. Here’s a couple more (bad) pics from our brief time there:

    TL;DR

Lots of fun. Get there early and check in at the door. Sit somewhere so you’re facing the middle so you can see everything going on! There’s so much to look at and a lot of fun to be had.

@jamiedawn27 YOLO or whatever the kids are saying these days. You keep the thing that it’s served in, we had grand plans of using it for plants or something, but I have no idea where it is at the moment! And Trader Sam’s is not something that you’d just walk past, from the outside it might as well be a broom closet.
