Hello! My family and I will be sailing on the Fantasy for a Western Caribbean cruise beginning on November 10, 2018. We cannot wait and I am so excited! I would prefer at sea days, but I think exploring the ports will be fun. We like to taste the food, see the people and shop a bit.

Has anyone been to Falmouth? Did you take an excursion and, if so, was it through Disney? We were thinking of either doing Dunn’s River Falls or the Blue Hole. Our little guy will be almost three. I have no problem hiking with him in a backpack; we are both used to it.

I already have my planning binder in full swing. I’m working on typing up the restaurant menus to use as a reference.

Also, if you’re thinking of a cruise….the more, the merrier! ;)

We were on that itinerary last October. We did the river tubing, and yes, all of our excursions where through Disney. We didn’t feel comfortable going “off the map” so to speak. It was a lot of fun, in fact I’d say Jamaica was the favorite of our excursions and the one we least expected to be so. Our kids did the Chukka Horseback Ride with Dunn’s River Falls on their honeymoon the previous May. It was an intense hike and excursion they said. The climb was very steep in spots, quite slippery, and tested their mettle a bit. Not to discourage you, but it was pretty intense at times.
The Fantasy is a gorgeous ship! You will have a wonderful time!

Oh how fun! While I’ve never been on a Disney Cruise, I’m looking forward to reading all about your planning. My family is going to the Falmouth port in December on a Norwegian Cruise, and we are looking at excursions also. We having made up our mind, but I was looking at ziplining thru the jungle as a possibility. They also have a fun bobsledding excursion!

I would love to do the ziplining, but, alas, the almost three year old. LOL Those dang age restrictions.

The planning is coming along well. This will be my third Disney cruise (and third cruise, period) and my husband’s first. The nine year old went with me in February 2015 aboard the Wonder and I am hoping that he wants to spend more time in the kids’ club this time around. He was very clingy that cruise and I felt bad taking him to trivia and just hanging out on deck with his older sister and I. We wanted him to have fun, too. Although, we did do a lot of meet and greets. :)

I have been on the Magic and Wonder previously and was worried about the how large the Fantasy is compared to them, but the excitement keeps that in check. I have been to Cozumel when I sailed the Wonder, so we didn’t check out that port too much. We are going to walk around, eat and shop. On Grand Cayman, I found a great beach that is to the south of the port. We are going to visit there for an hour or two (we are not big beach people), then head back to Georgetown (the Port area) to eat lunch, see some historic things (and the post office, just because) and shop. Falmouth was where we were scratching our heads. We are fine either staying in port or venturing out just a little (for real Jamaican food), but I would love to see Dunn’s River Falls or the Blue Hole. I’m just worried about traveling so far from port.

Ah, we’ll see. I have plenty of time to plan.
