bexruns374 XPFrom what I’ve heard from friends (and have read about here on the boards) this will be a welcome addition to the app
Bus Times at Walt Disney World Resort Now Available in Newly Redesigned My Disney Experience App
I’ve never been but I know I’d appreciate knowing when to expect my bus!
June 18, 2018 at 7:56 pm #80274Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is GREAT news!!! I’m totally on board for this upgrade to the app!
June 19, 2018 at 8:15 am #80296This looks like a great tool! Excellent for if you’re finishing breakfast or getting ready and such.

AnonymousXPI just installed the updated Disney app and as far as I can tell, the option to see bus times is only available if you have an actual reservation and only from that resort to another place. So you can’t, as far as I can tell, just pick an arbitrary location and find out how long you have to wait to get to another place. First, you need an actual reservation, and second, it only works for telling how long from your resort to another location. Let me know if you see things differently.

I think that’s exactly right and how it was designed. From what I’ve seen and read it’s for resort transportation to the parks so you know how long you have when getting ready and whatnot, hopefully saving time waiting in the bus queue at your resort. I *think* they will expand it if it works out and they get good feedback.
June 19, 2018 at 9:07 am #80310even if it is just from your home base right now, that is so helpful!! I am willing to make a swift walk to the bus at AK and Poly after breakfasts to see wait times if I can be able to sit calmly in my food court or hotel room (or gift shop browsing of course!) until my resort buses are due

I haven’t experimented with this yet. So let’s say you’re staying at Old Key West and you’ve gone to Wilderness Lodge for dinner and now you want to go to Downtown Disney, can you see times from WL to DTD because it knows you’re at Disney from your reservation? Or is it only buses pertaining to the resort you’re staying at? I’m confused

bexruns374 XPUgh, I thought it would be much easier than all that. Like just say “hey the current wait time for A bus from HERE is xx min”. But that would be TOO easy, wouldn’t it?

I believe it’s only bus times from the resort where you have a reservation.
June 19, 2018 at 3:01 pm #80333My understanding is the exact same as what Master Yoda said straight above. Everything I’ve seen points to it only being from the resort where you are staying at this time.
June 19, 2018 at 8:49 pm #80345At first I liked it. Now I don’t. Not a big deal for me anyhow, I don’t use the buses often.

bexruns374 XPWait, you have to have a reservation for a transpo bus?

No, just for the app to show you the time to next bus. But really you generally wouldn’t be at a resort unless you did, unless you were there for a meal or something like that.

bexruns374 XPGotcha. I’m sure if I was there this would all make more sense.
