Bringing Back the Tapestry of Nations?

We need a sense of peace and unity in this world today like never before.

And my favorite parade ever begins with this:
“The gateway of time has opened and the spirit of humanity has brought us together. Let us reach out and touch. Peace and goodwill to all who gather here for this earthly celebration. May the spirit of humanity bring us together…may the promise of the new millennium light the child within your heart. And now…as the millennium drums unite and become one heartbeat, let us fly together hand in hand on the wings of joy, kindness, compassion, and love.”

With that in mind… no one does the combination of wonder and optimism quite like Walt Disney & Co. Any chance Disney would be willing to spearhead a modern-day movement for peace and unity a generation later and reprise this classic parade? What are your thoughts?

I loved that parade….I remember holding hands behind the ending and walking through World Showcase….. I hope if they do it, they will translate the idea to other media outside the parks. I think it would help reverse the divisiveness and negativity–it sure couldn’t hurt.

Oh man, I remember that parade and how as a child I was sooooo amazed at how beautiful it was! Epcot really does need this to return

Obviously I never saw it in person but I watched a video of it that someone posted a while back, maybe on FB in the Vintage Disneyland group I’m in. It looked wonderful.

You’re quite alright! I’m disappointed in how much *I* missed of WDW and DL even going in the mid and late 90s — and missing much of the place through the 2000s decade. So yeah… I’m right there with ya buddy!
