@kcboston Is this all for real? It looks like a fairy tale! Wow!!!! Your plans look so lovely!!!

I know, right?!?!?! Everything that I’m posting now is why this trip has changed so much from our original vision. When we first booked we assumed that we’d do 3 or 4 nights at DLP, and tour Paris the rest of the time. Then I started researching places to visit in Northern France and I was blown away and the trip completely changed course! I’m not sure if we are trying to fit too much in, but we have a framework to go off of, and if we have to adjust on the fly, we can do that

I stayed at a youth hostel in Bayeux when we went to see the WWII beaches! I’ll have to see if I can remember what all we did. We visited a museum, the beaches themselves and also Pegasus Bridge, I remember that much LOL

Thanks for your help :p Just kidding ;)

Yeah, we want to tour it a little bit, but we also have to be mindful that we have a 7 year old, so a heavy museum might not go over too well. She can be a sensitive little thing sometimes, so I want her to understand the importance, but I’m afraid it will upset her.

Give me time to think and I’ll get back to you :smirk: I don’t think a museum would be upsetting, in fact it might not even register with her. Lots of old pictures, guns in glass cases, old uniforms and cars, it wasn’t like when I visited Auschwitz. The beaches just look like a beach and then they have like model tanks and stuff, I remember kids getting yelled at for climbing on the tanks LOL but it could be boring for a 7 year old. Pegasus bridge stuck with me because it’s still riddled with bullet holes, it was never repaired.

Whoa! Just stumbled upon this thread…. I’m glad you are not spending your whole time at DLP… So much to see in Paris and all of France for that matter….
My wife and I just returned from a 12 day Cruise on the Disney Magic ( still have to do a trip report) and one of the stops was Le Harve France. There we did an excursion to Mont St. Michelle. It was amazing. … it was also on my bucket list of places to visit. enjoy the pics…. The last pic was from a previous Paris visit.

@85glht I love those pictures! I can’t wait to see Mont Saint-Michel, it looks so breathtaking! We are planning on stopping at Honfleur and Etretat, which are not that far from Le Havre :) Please do a trip report, it sounds like you had an amazing trip!

Haha, yes, it did feel a little like being in the film. It was our first stop on the cruise and it was my favorite place that we visited. I just enjoy walking in and through places that are 800-1000 years old or older.

It is worth the visit! If you are going to be near the region, DO IT! It was 2 hrs by bus to get there from Le Harve, driving east I believe. Either way, if you can fit it into your agenda, do it!

I will do a trip report… I’m working overtime and Saturday’s…. I’ll get to it sometime, please be patient:) :ears:
