They better not put in a Frozen show! :hmmph:
March 4, 2017 at 10:00 am #16166Just read that. Now I’m glad I got us tickets for October!
ETA: When they don’t announce what the replacement will be, I think 1) it’s going to be a looooooong time before we see something and 2) maybe they don’t actually have any plans at this stage and that’s the reason for not announcing. In which case, why close something prematurely? Just my musings.
March 4, 2017 at 10:23 am #16168My guess would be a contratual issue much like with OffKilter. I believe thet are not Disney employees and only working under some kind of contract.

It could be, I could see Cirque being Disney subcontractors. But still, they would know a while in advance that the contract was up and not going to be renewed, so I would hope that they have good plans for a replacement.

March 4, 2017 at 11:19 am #16181I just heard from an unofficial source that the replacement will be an empty tent.
March 4, 2017 at 1:08 pm #16184I know, I said you would hope :p

Right?!
March 4, 2017 at 7:39 pm #16193@Jloosh78 they are definitely not Disney cast members. Cirque has absolutely nothing to do with Disney other than a contractual partnership.
Talking with the family a bit today I’ve come to the conclusion that they are probably in contentious contract negotiations. I hope they can settle something and maybe bring in a new Cirque program. I think that would be wonderful.
March 4, 2017 at 9:31 pm #16203I haven’t seen La Nouba in a while since 2008, the show ran almost 20 years. I’m hoping Toruk can replace it.

Interesting idea. I took it to mean that Cirque du Soleil in general would be leaving, but they did mention at the end of that article that Disney have great relations with them. Perhaps with the addition of Pandora they might keep Cirque but bring a new show, like Toruk that would tie in
