    I know some of the members here have been to WDW recently with all the changes/closings/precautions going on. What did you think of the daily reservation system? Wearing masks all day? Any tips or suggestions to offer for those of us considering a trip?
    Just curious to hear everyone’s thoughts

    We’ve gone for two days now and are looking to add a third in the near future. We’re not a huge fan of the reservation system solely because it prevents parkhopping, however the system is easy to use and has it’s purpose (to predict crowds).
    We found that wearing masks in the heat and humidity is sometimes a bother as it gets very damp, as well as a tendency for the ears to get very worn down at times, however there are relaxation stations that allow for mask breaks, as well as dining options. This is especially helpful in sit-downs as once you sit down, you get a nice long break from the mask.
    My advice would be to bring extra masks. The CDC recommends switching masks every two hours, but I have been known to stretch it to three (it all depends on how you feel really). But no matter what, I’d bring extra for each day just because the masks do get very damp and moist after a while.
    My other tip is don’t expect to get everything done in one day. The wait times have been going up, especially recently. And with social distancing and routine cleaning, time stretches thinner and thinner. No more weaving through crowds or FP. It’s full on waiting for everything. You cannot accomplish everything in the park except maybe in Epcot. But this has always been true of Epcot in the past couple years.
    And of course, use provided hand sanitizer and wash hands frequently. Many rides are only being cleaned periodically, not after every use. And there is no requirement to use hand sanitizer, so there’s no guarantee the party before you used it. This especially applies to touch heavy attractions like Mission: SPACE or Smuggler’s Run.
    However, I still think it’s worth it. The magic is still there. Certain rides are struggling, especially ones with pre-shows (some have been cut altogether, lowering the quality of the experience), but it’s still Disney. There’s still characters in a sense. It’s the same rides and several shows remain. The food is still there. And Cast Members and their level of service are still top-notch. Oh and of course, always assess the situation before you go. Check recent case numbers as well as deaths in the Orlando area and assess whether or not you’re comfortable first. If you feel comfortable and are willing to do it and risk yourself, I say go for it. If you don’t think it’s worth it or you’re not comfortable at all, that’s fine too.

    We went for a few days…. reservation system is not bad but dislike not being able to park hop
    HATED wearing masks EVERYWHERE! It was HOT!
    LOVED the fact of no fast passes!!!.
    Disney was not the same though…. it felt different… kind of hard to explain. We didn’t feel much joy in being there, I guess…

    Well, considering the pandemic, that makes a lot of sense. Still stinks, though.

    I work with my mask on — until I get the all-clear (i.e. a vaccine/cure), I will continue to wear the mask. I’m wearing it from the time I hit the parking lot, until the time I get home (yeah, I drive back with it on), so that’s a good 5 or 6 hours. Maybe longer. Last night, it was rather cool (low sixties/upper fifties), so the mask was a good layer of warmth on my face.

    We had to cancel our late October trip for many reason (parent’s risk factors, etc) but it became more than that.
    No park hopping, dining, experiences….We just could not justify the expense with the removal of so much. And, trust me, we have not been since 2006…..It was VERY painful to do it.

    @avitweb I’m so sorry. :( That really hurts, but for people who don’t go a lot the experience is really downgraded a lot. I don’t blame you for canceling until you can have a better and fuller experience, but it still hurts so bad. Sending all the comfort possible.

    Oh no @avitweb but I can honestly understand. we aren’t booked until April and I have a feeling we will be swinging back and forth about what to do up until just before its time. I hope you can reschedule in the not too distant future

    honestly i can not justify the cost without 100% of the experience. my hubby is just DONE with Disney so until the star wars hotel opens i have no pull to get him to go. :mando: :babyyoda:

    Soooo. We last minute decided to book for 3 weeks from now for a short 5 day visit.
    What can you guys tell me about bussing from hotel to the park?
    Also, are pools open?
    And does anyone have a clue if they are still allowing a wheelchair tag for our son’s stroller? I do know the ADA pass is really not happ. Or am I wrong?
    Has anyone done the quick service mobile ordering? I’m seeing that on the app and wondering how easy that is.

    @sarahjoe37 I can’t answer most of those but I’m sure others can. Some quick Google searches might help.

    But I can answer for mobile ordering. I believe all quick serves open require mobile ordering. It’s not too difficult to use, it’s much like placing an order online. You look at the menu and add items. There’s a way to modify items (for instance, you can remove cheese from a cheeseburger) and there’s a way to specify allergies. Fairly easy to use I’d say so, but of course, I might have a skewed perception of it since I’m a Zoomer and I’ve grown up with technology, so I’m very skilled with it. :D

    Having been there not long ago… I can say that the bussing to and from Disney Springs was a nightmare…. only one bus services this route… if there are a lot of people waiting for the bus, expect to be “cut in line” by rude people…. we rented a car for our stay and took the bus ONCE to DS and said never gain…. people suck!!

    Mobile ordering is easy… we did that for the first time too during said visit.

    Pools were open and no masks required while swimming.. :smirk:

    I figure the mobile ordering can’t be that hard, but I didn’t know since I can’t “try” it first!
    I’m glad the pools are open. We plan to spend a day just doing hotel stuff.
    We plan to only hit MK and AK and plan to just enjoy it. I don’t want to spend the whole day running. Just absorb that Disney feeling. If it’s a bit different right now.
    I’m worried about the bussing…. Especially with a stroller/wheelchair. ugh.
