    Dates Announced for Epcot Nighttime Spectaculars

    The last Illuminations will take place September 30. Then a new show “Epcot Forever,” will debut on October 1, and continue into 2020. According to Disney Parks Blog, “the show will take us on a journey through the past, present and future of Epcot. Featuring a stirring collection of songs that paint a colorful picture of the park, this nighttime extravaganza will offer both a trip down memory lane and a look towards the future and all the magical possibilities still to come.” There’s no new information on the next show following Epcot Forever.

    I love Illuminations, so I’m sad to see it go, but I can’t wait to see Epcot forever!! It sounds so cool! I guess I’ll have to plan another trip before that one is replaced too LOL

    Anyone else see this “Epcot Forever” as a “farewell” to EPCOT?
    Seems to me that if it is changing again toward the end of 2020 that the original thoughts behind EPCOT will be going away with the renovations.

    I am sad to see it go, but can’t believe its been 20 years since the Millennium celebration!!! I saw it when it first started at end of 1999 and then so many times in 2000 :) I will miss the Holiday version the most, with the Let There Be peace On Earth ending.

    @AVITWeb
    I really hope not. Epcot totally fuels most of my desire to go to WDW ;) its my favorite place, just gives the “aahhhh” feeling. They better not change tooooo much of it.

    I’m going to miss Illuminations so much. I have so many great memories of watching it with my mom. Hopefully we can see it once more, but I doubt it. I just love that show. I hope the new one is just as good or better. :(

    Don’t even speak that into existence! :surprised: for real though, I feel like things are changing in the way you said. I don’t like it much, so I try to ignore it :P

    I hope so too and I think it will be. Happily Ever After turned out to be so incredible that I don’t miss Wishes at all. If they keep to that level I think I’ll be happy with the replacement, even though I will still miss Illuminations

    that’s an interesting thought… i see it as more of a celebration of epcot and the history of the park, since WDW will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2021. they are adding a lot of IP attractions though, so who knows. It does feel like epcot’s original concept is changing….

    It’s my favorite place on earth!! And I really hope that the changes stay within the spirit of the original.
    If it becomes just another character park, I will not be happy!
