I haven’t tried them all, but of the ones I have tried, Via Napoli is my favorite!! It can be loud though…just a warning if that’s a real turnoff for you.

I’m all about the atmosphere and experience and less about the food. There is not a cuisine served that I can’t get in my hometown. So I really go for the atmosphere or characters, etc. that I can’t get at home when I am making a decision.

I want to thank you all for your input! I read every single post and Via Napoli was the favorite of the lot, so that’s what we booked!

    1) Les Chefs de France – I’ve always had great food and awesome service here! My only complaint is that the dining room is a little cramped with the tables very close together…but maybe that’s a French thing?

It’s a French thing LOL not every restaurant is like that but so many are out on the street or inside a small building that it’s pretty common

We do one or the other when we choose where to eat. We either pick somewhere that offers food we don’t have easy access to (Moroccan, seafood) or we choose a place with a unique atmosphere like the Garden Grill, Sci-Fi, 50’s Prime Time, etc. sometimes we’re able to incorporate both aspects :)

In my experience it’s not just a French thing. On my trip to Costa Rica in 2008, almost every restaurant we went to had close seating. The good thing was that some places were open-air so it didn’t feel quite as cramped. Restaurants I went to in Niger would’ve been the same way if there was more patronage, but then Niger has a strong French influence too.

    1) San Angel Inn- Nope. Still too scarred 10 years after our last horrific experience there
    2) La Hacienda- Never tried
    3) Nine Dragons- Never tried, but have heard mostly positive things from fam/friends
    4) Via Napoli- Haven’t tried, Italian is one of my last choices at WDW
    5) Tokyo Dining- Never tried, want to, the QS was excellent
    6) Spice Road Table- Very much want to try
    7) Les Chefs de France- Close friend’s (and WDW regulars) favorite. I’d say safe pick
    8) Rose & Crown- Never Tried

We are partial to LeCellier or Coral Reef for a nice(r) meal. Garden Grill for a family dinner. Aikersus was surprisingly good in the past as well.

Interesting! I can only speak for France and Italy because that’s all I’ve experienced. But I do know about some of the French influence in African countries from some of my friends who lived in the same city as me but came from former colonies like Morocco, Algeria, Senegal and Tunisia. But now I’m getting off topic :P
