Star Wars Dark Side – 4/15/18 – 4/23/18 – Day 5

Thursday 4/19/18

After our full day at Animal Kingdom we slept in until 7:00! That never happens, at home or at Home! We got up and ready for the day and had breakfast and then headed to the Expo. No park today, trying to save the feet and legs for Friday. We got there a little before Heather and Ryan and enjoyed people watching until they arrived. Let me just say, for any rookie runDisney people, Heather and Ryan are the PERFECT guides for the Expo! We had just the best day as they showed us around and Heather took great care in leading us and showing us where we needed to go and be to get our race bibs, shirts, merchandise, everything. She is absolutely the best! Of that, there can be no question! We knew we were going to be buying a lot, mostly because it was our first runDisney race. We did pretty well, hitting just below the amoung I thought we’d drop. While in the Expo we got pictures with the course map, Jabba the Hutt, Storm troopers, and the Disney character cutouts. Once we were all done there we headed back to the resorts, dropped off the merchandise and tried on the shirts so if we needed to we could return or exchange. No need for that, everything fit great! We then headed to Downtown Disney Springs and met back up with Heather and Ryan for the afternoon/evening. We all loved Pizza Ponte in January so we settled on there again for a delicious linner. Then we all had a great time browsing the shops and also stopping into the Polite Pig for some Gideons chocolate chip cookies. Oh my gosh was that amazing! I think Heather and I were in complete and total heaven! We stopped in at the temporary store they had set up while World of Disney is under refurb and when Kathy asked any CM to see their pins I think at least a dozen descended upon her wanting to show her theirs and trade! They were all so great and so friendly! Disney CM’s really are the best! Some more shopping and strolling to round out the evening and we took our leave and were home by a little after 7:00 pm in anticipation of our early wake up tomorrow morning. We did manage to save our legs, as much as you can at Disney, getting in less than 20,000 steps!
