Just saw the new Maleficent teaser. I was surprised how much I loved the first one. Hopefully this one is as good!

@bexruns agreed. and the title throws me off, because I thought she was “good” at the end of the first. And my guess as to why is just because they can. so it better be good

Exactly! I’ll see it (eventually) but until it comes out and I read some reviews I’m still just in the camp of “why?”

Have to agree with you, @bexruns. I enjoyed the first one, but I think it’s really forgettable. As in I forgot it even existed.

OK so she turns back to evil because she is possessive and doesn’t want her goddaughter to marry the prince she pushed into Aurora’s life? (OK so I see his Mom is a bit crazy, but…..) not so sure this one will send the happy message the last one did. BUT i will probably go see it because I loved the last one.

I know I’m in the minority here, but…I hated the first movie I don’t know, the whole thing about Maleficent turning good and becoming a sweet, doting godmother just didn’t sit well with me. She’s considered the most evil villain of all Disney villains! The embodiment of pure evil! And now she’s all lovey-dovey to the princess who was supposed to be her target for destruction? Just…no. Maybe if she turns evil again in this movie I might like it better than the first one!

Ok so after watching the trailer, here are my thoughts:

WHY? I still don’t understand the need for a sequel other than $$. It seems pointless.

I’ll join you in the minority corner @laprana . Although I didn’t hate it, I didn’t necessarily care for it, and for the reasons you mentioned above. Maleficent is supposed to be pure evil. Caring for someone like that, that just doesn’t fit the bill for me.
