What are your #1 overrated and underrated Disney/Pixar movies.
Animated only. Not live action. Who Framed Roger Rabbit can be listed (even though it’s both ;))

    For me….
Overrated: FROZEN. Doesn’t mean I don’t like it but OMG.
Underrated: Brother Bear. Such an adorable movie that didn’t get nearly as much love as it should have.

    Now go!

I think Frozen is a bit overrated, even though I love it!

For underrated, I think my pick would be Tangled. I honestly think it’s a much better movie than Frozen, but it doesn’t get the same love (it only got bathrooms for crying out loud!!!)

We got nothing for Tangled here except for some random tower outside of the princess show.

Overrated: The Jungle Book. It has some good songs, but it all feels really slow to me. And I think the songs get too much praise by Disney.
Underrated: Hunchback of Notre Dame. Mainly for the music. :P

Underrated – Robin Hood, It’s such a fun movie. I like the way the classic story was made entertaining by how the characters were portrayed

    Overrated to no thought at all. Frozen . :P :P :P .

Underrated: The Rescuers (+ Down Under), even to the point where i’ve spoken to “Big Disney Fans” (i use the term very loosely) who’d never even heard of them…

Overrated: Lilo & Stitch, never liked it when it came out, and i still don’t now. (I was going to pick frozen, but its already taken a beaten in the first five posts).

Overrated: I agree with Lilo & Stich. I have never liked that movie. I thought it was weird and confusing and so much violence and creepy stuff. I know it has a following, but not by me.

Underrated: Meet the Robinsons. I LOVE that movie! It’s funny, and heartwarming. I really liked the story.

I’ll have to think about an overrated movie… but I agree regarding The Rescuers (Down Under mostly). I’ll add the Great Mouse Detective.

I love seeing Hunchback get some love–it’s my favorite! (Followed by *cough* The Jungle Book)

Underrated: Hercules. So many jokes just for the grownups
Overrated: Frozen is the easy answer, but it’s growing on me now that LIG is not playing everywhere all the time ;) I’m gonna go with :ariel: The Little Mermaid. Don’t hurt me. LOL

Overrated: Frozen – I think the ONLY reason the popularity of this film will stand the test of time for longer than I expect is because they’re releasing a sequel. That may prolong its fall from popularity for a while, but I’m sure it will fall eventually.

Underrated: Bambi – I don’t think it deserves the prominence of Beauty and the Beast, but it was still a beautifully done animated feature that should get more notoriety, especially when you consider it was made in the 40s. The animation was on point for really giving the feel of a forest and the fear incited by an unseen villain was well done. Even the score for the presence of man was like Jaws before Jaws made that type of score popular.

Yes on Bambi. And especially for a cartoon that really doesn’t have a whole lot of dialogue!

Spin off topic: overrated/overplayed Disney songs?

Underrated: Hunchback of Notre Dame. Mainly for the music. :P

Agreed! Growing up in France, I especially loved this one (and Beauty and the Beast) because so many movies in general are set in LA or New York, other places need love too! I had Hunchback everything when I was a kid!
