@unphiltered could I ask what site you use to rent DVC points? That whole process seems so confusing to me but as a group of 7 staying at Disney hotels, we are now pushed into a much more expensive tier of rooms unfortunately. Thanks for any advice. Fort Wilderness cabins worked out well for us though.

@rjonah8 I have never rented DVC points but I follow this page on Facebook dvc-rental.com and they seem to have good reviews.

Thanks so much @StupidJudy – Also, I’ve stayed at AoA four times and LOVE it. We started as a family of 4 and used to stay in the Mermaid room but since we added twins we are now in the family suites (have done Cars and Lion King suites). The Nemo pool is amazing and the Cars pool was incredible for my son – he hugged all of the life-sized cars :)

@rjonah8 and @StupidJudy there are a lot of websites out there that offer DVC rentals. I used mouseowners.com. You need to do your vetting on who you rent from (use paypal, get recommendations, etc.) but if you are FIRM on your dates and don’t mind not having house cleaning everyday it was thew way to go.

For example, we went to WDW last fall and stayed at AKL-Kidani Village. Trying to book through disney’s website the cost of a studio room was over $2200 for 4 nights. Booking through a member of mouse owners, for the same studio, we paid just over $500. Check-in was easy, and the person we rented from was super great! There is a bit of “leg work” to do to get a resrevation, and you typically have to pay it all up front and you can’t cancel the reservation (DVC doesn’t work like a hotel). I would suggest travel insurance if there is any hesitation about your dates.

That is quite a savings! I am keeping that in mind for future trips.

@stupidjudy Yes! The Nemo pool is awesome because of that and the Cars pool has these awesome cozy cone cabanas to sit in and get some shade
