The Wonders of Life pavilion was an attraction at Epcot at Walt Disney World. It was devoted to health and body related attractions and is located inside a golden colored dome between Mission: SPACE and the Universe of Energy. On January 4, 2004, Disney made the decision to make it seasonal operation only. It reopened when the park was projected to hit near capacity during the high spring months and Christmas season. Currently it is open as the center for the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival and the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival as the Festival Center. Last night I was delighted to accept the invitation to see a cast preview of Rivers of Light at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We entered the park around 8:15PM to cast members at the turnstiles checking for the special “Cast Preview” ticket. There are two sides to sit on, Asia and Dinoland. We were seated at Asia. The event opened at 7:30PM and the preview started at 8:30PM so we had a few minutes to spare. We took our seats which were very close together. I had a woman sitting in front of me and I had to open my legs to avoid hitting her back. I’m 6’1″ with big knees, but they were definitely close. One of the reasons I switched this site over to a new platform was so that I could take advantage of the better security offered by the various software I use. Since the switchover, I’ve blocked over 25 IPs that were trying to brute force into the site. To increase security, I will be adding an SSL certificate to the site before January 1, 2017. Mickey Mouse made his debut in 1928 where he first was seen in a single test screening (Plane Crazy). Mickey officially debuted in the short film Steamboat Willie (1928), one of the first sound cartoons1. Chelle and I celebrated Mickey’s birthday by visiting Epcot. It was a beautiful day with barely any clouds and the sun was shining bright. As you entered the park, cast members were waiting with big buckets (similar to the ones they use for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party) and handing out birthday pins. On it was a picture of the new Mickey style and “#HappyBirthdayMickey” which they did so guests would use the hash tag on when posting to social media. Desserts... »
