How much did it cost, on the year you were born?

Ticket prices were $9.50 the year I was born, 1981.
Today’s prices will empty my vacation fund, but I just can’t resist going “home” every year.$31 (1990) when i was born and $42 (1998) by the time i first visited. I can’t help but notice the prices increasing by 50% in the 90’s which is often put down to Michael Eisner, however i can’t help but notice that a 50% rise in any of those decades is fairly standard. I know their costs increase and you need to take account of inflation, but that means prices have increased 400% in my lifetime alone! That’s a little upsetting. Although, in fairness has anyone ever paid the daily rate? Last tickets i got for Disney were for two week and cost me £300 ($390), i can’t help but think the daily rate is largely irrelevant, and now the multi day pass prices are a lot more common? Maybe its a little different for people who live locally, but then again the season tickets are a very good deal in that case

and $42 the first time I went with my family (1998).And $115 last year (the last year we went)
Wow. But I have to say, it’s all because EVERYTHING costs more. They have to cover their costs to keep it magical.
