Sooooo… I just saw Tomorrowland yesterday.
What a visually amazing movie! Eye candy EVERYWHERE, and what a way to show Walt’s vision in a unique and unlimited way! And great music by Michael Giaccino, even if I couldn’t really *hum* a melody out of the main theme, in the end.
Plot? It worked well enough for me. Was it preachy? Perhaps a tad. Violent? More than I would have liked. But when the movie was done, I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed it! Maybe 4 out of 5 stars?
Did you see what all the fuss was about? I’d certainly watch it again! (If nothing else, then for the amazing recreation of the Worlds Fair and interpretation of Tomorrowland!
March 27, 2017 at 8:47 am #19593Well, you convinced me… guess I’ll give it a watch later today!!
March 27, 2017 at 8:49 am #19595Well, trying not to give it all away @chrmarlewis, but I enjoyed its buoyant optimism!
March 27, 2017 at 11:50 am #19670I wasn’t blown away by it, but I did like it. I think I need to re-watch it.
I do have to say, I squealed like a little girl when he went on “its a small world” and then you saw Space Mountain in the background.

That was the best part! I have to watch it again.

March 27, 2017 at 10:09 pm #19747I liked this movie! We watched it in the theater and thought it was pretty good, not blown away by it. But then we bought it and rewatched it. I liked it more the second time! I had a very different image in my head on what I thought this would be like the first time we watched it. Once I knew what it was really about, I enjoyed it a lot more and took notice of so many details! And I absolutely loved the World’s Fair and the initial peak into Tomorrowland!!!!
March 28, 2017 at 6:53 am #19755Also, who doesn’t like to look at George?!

I agree – we saw it at the theater and I liked it but did not love it – then we caught it on satellite again and the more I watched it the better I liked it – I got hung up on the “we are doomed” aspect at first and that was not fun – but the more I watched it I was able to enjoy it for the futuristic way I think Walt would have looked at the world.

I think that was my problem when i saw it. That and I’m not a fan of Hugh Laurie being a bad guy so once I realized that I was all :hmmph:
