Teaser trailer
January 15, 2019 at 11:51 am #100343Odd how they call it a teaser when it’s a full trailer
I like it! Can’t wait. My thoughts are we’re going to find out this takes place before Infinity War-otherwise they just spoiled A LOT since this comes out AFTER End Game..
January 15, 2019 at 11:59 am #100346this looks pretty good,

The movies have a “Vacation” vibe to them, with the second one going on a European tour, so he concludes the third will be a Christmas theme, thus it’ll be called…
Home For The Holidays.
I thought that was brilliant.
He might be right.

January 20, 2019 at 11:20 am #100648So many conflicting thoughts! Spider-Man was one of my favorite comics growing up but so far I haven’t loved any of the movie adaptations. Mysterio however!
maybe I need to check this one out…

I rented it in tech school, didn’t like it. It was so hard to sit through, I was bored

I think Tom Holland is definitely the best casting ever for the role of Spider-Man! The movies have just been very “meh” for me. I don’t know why, I want to love them! Like I said, Spider-Man was always the comic I read the most growing up
January 21, 2019 at 10:49 am #100721Personally, if the MCU Spider-Man had started off as a senior in high school, or maybe a freshman in college, then it would be interesting. No need for him to be in high school.
At least they got the “Uncle Ben” stuff out of the way. We know he’s there, and he was murdered, but there’s no need to see it (again).

Her youth makes perfect sense.
Peter’s aunt and uncle would, without question, be the same age as his mother and father, correct? It would stand to reason that if his parents were in their early/mid thirties when they had Peter, then Ben and May would be in their early/mid thirties as well. Since Peter is roughly 17 years old, by this point, he would have parents in their early fifties, thus his aunt and uncle would be in their early fifties as well.
Why the old comics, and the previous movies, insisted on making her “Grandma” May instead of Aunt May, I’ll never know.
January 21, 2019 at 1:35 pm #100769Marissa Tomei’s age makes sense but I don’t like the way she portrays that character in the films. In the comics my impression wasn’t that Aunt May was more of a grandma, it was just that she was older (50s/60s I guess) making her a little more vulnerable and making Peter feel an extra need to protect her after Uncle Ben’s passing. By contrast, Tomei’s Aunt May looks a lot younger than 50, so she doesn’t seem the right age, and her character seems more like an older sister, “girl next door” type instead of Peter’s aunt. I don’t think Aunt May is supposed to be a hot best friend type to Peter but that’s how she comes across to me in the new movies. But that’s entirely my opinion.
