    Friday 5/12/17

Friday was our beach day at St. Augustine Beach. We rented an umbrella and chairs first thing in the morning, all day for as long as we wanted. Good price too. We played in the waves and boogie boarded in the morning, and walked and shelled tons. We had a light lunch on the balcony of the room so we didn’t even have to get out of our suits. In the afternoon we played and boogie boarded some more and took a nice walk the other way on the beach to the pier. It was a wonderful capper to our beach themed vacation and we all enjoyed the day. For dinner we went across the street and dined on the rooftop dining at the restaurant they have right across the street from the hotel. After dinner we took one more long walk on the beach to say our goodbyes. I think the marine life was sad to see us go also as we saw dolphins in the surf and they appeared to “follow” us on our walk. It was a great ending.

    Saturday 5/13/17

We were up and on the road early to get a good start and we knew we wanted to time out lunch properly. It was cloudy and we drove through some rain in Georgia. It didn’t last long though and cleared up before we had the absolutely best time meeting @kcboston and her family for a terrific lunch! She is such a wonderful person and I just love her and her family! It was so great to meet all of them and rest assured, it will not be our only time! We met at one of her favorite places, Inizio Pizza, and she may have been surprised at how much Lauren and I can toss back! LOL After a wonderful visit, they had to get their daughter to a function and we really had to get back on the road. We’re actually fortunate they had to go or I would have spent all afternoon with them and we wouldn’t have made it home Saturday night! The rest of the drive was uneventful, beautiful mountains, and we rolled in around 1:00 in the morning. Not too bad time.

Final thoughts: this was such a great vacation! We enjoyed everywhere we went and it was made even more special by our meets. Just the other day, both Lauren and Ben commented on how it seemed to go faster than a WDW vacation! We will be back to Vero Beach, that is assured. And of course, St. Augustine is one of our homes. This one will be tough to top.
If you’ve stuck with me through all my reports, thank you. I hope you enjoyed them, I enjoyed sharing our adventures with you.

Not a dumb question, actually a very smart one. They still use Key to the World cards at Vero Beach.
