Can’t wait to watch this! I absolutely loved their characters and wish we had gotten more than just a few episodes with them. Plus Fennec from the Mandalorian is gonna be in this, so that’s doubly exciting!
Episode 1 discussion/spoilers
The hour-long premiere felt like a bonus episode of “The Clone Wars”. It was amazing. It was sweet to see the Bad Batch together again, doing what they do best. We also get a cameo from a character from “Rebels” (I’m not going to say who, but if you’ve seen that show, you can guess who it is) Dave Filoni has done it again.
Episode 2 spoilers:
This one picks up close to where the first episode ended. It’s not as fun, but it’s still a great watch.
Episode 3 discussion/spoilers:
Crosshair is in charge of a new group of soldiers, and we see just how dangerous that “loyalty” chip in the clones’ brains happens to be. The rest of the Bad Batch are in for a heck of a fight, when they catch up with him. Or rather, when he catches up with them.
Episode 4 discussion/spoilers:
While hiding on the planet Idaflor (which I immediately knew was an anagram of Florida, the second I saw the name), the crew run into a familiar face. Well, familiar to the fans of The Mandalorian, but making her canonical introduction in this series. She was sent to get Omega, and although she was outnumbered 4 to 1, this young mercenary proved she could hold her own.
Episode 5 discussion/spoilers:
Trying to figure out who the mercenary is, the Bad Batch look up a Jedi informant named Cid. Cid tells them that she’ll help out in getting the name of the mercenary, if they do a job for her — rescue a kid. This episode, much to my surprise, is connected to “Return Of The Jedi”. I love how they make tiny connections in the shows and movies.
Episode 6 discussion/spoilers:
The Bad Batch are looking for a tactical droid, but two sisters are also looking for the same droid. During this operation, Wrecker has a slight head injury, and… the worst case scenario for the team is slowly starting to develop.
This episode is a nice callback to the final season of The Clone Wars.
Episode 7 discussion/spoilers:
Captain Rex returns, and he is shocked to learn the inhibitor chips that are inside all of the clones are still within the heads of the Bad Batch, so he gives them the location of a place they can quickly, discretely get the chips removed, but time is of the essence, since… Wrecker’s chip activated. The biggest and strongest member of the Bad Batch is now going against the rest of the team… and they may not be enough.
Episode 8 discussion/spoilers:
The Empire is made aware of the location of the Bad Batch, and an elite squad of troopers — led by Crosshair — is after them. Meanwhile, Omega has a 2nd bounty placed on her head. The episode ends with a FAMILIAR face — one that no one expected — from The Clone Wars. This was a fantastic episode.
Episode 9 discussion/spoilers:
The bounty hunter (who we last saw years ago on “The Clone Wars”) is taking Omega to the rendezvous point, but another bounty hunter is after her as well, and both have different plans for the young clone. Meanwhile, the Bad Batch is trying to catch up to her, hoping that she’s unharmed.
I love how this episode connects The Clone Wars and The Mandalorian in a seamless way.
Episode 10 discussion/spoilers
The Bad Batch are given an assignment — a rescue mission. They have to break somebody out. Problem — it’s someone who was one part of the Separatist faction. The crew does not like Separatists. But they need to get paid. What to do?
Meanwhile, Omega helps the team, even though she wasn’t brought in for that assignment.
