Thankful for D-Cot

I just wanted to say how thankful I am for this site. I not only love the jukebox and listening to Disney music at work and at home, but I’m grateful for the community of kind people who are here. I only started posting and interacting on here recently, but I wish I had started sooner. This is, by far, the nicest and most helpful Disney website I have come across. I’ve been having a pretty rough year. There’s a lot of stress and uncertainty at my work after the firm I work for was bought out by a larger firm at the beginning of the year. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in January, and although she’s doing really well now, it’s been a tough road especially for her, but also my sister and me who have been caring for her. I’m currently going through a pretty bad breakup that has left me depressed, sad, lonely, lost and feeling pretty worthless. Some days it’s hard to get out of bed and face the world. But when I come to this site, and I see the friendliness of everyone here, and am able to take my mind off everything by talking about one of my favorite things with other people who get it…It helps so much. I’m trying hard to find the good in every day and to keep going, and I find that here. I don’t mean to ramble on with my sob story, lol, I just want to say Thank You to this site and everyone on it for giving me a reason to smile even on the hardest days.

This is what we aim for! So many of us here have had awful experiences on other Disney sites where the contributors don’t have the right to call themselves Disney fans. There is no need for hate and we pride ourselves on being a friendly community. As a Moderator, I have no problem nipping it in the bud if anyone chooses not to conform with being nice
I am so glad you have found a home here!I am so sorry to hear about your mom :'( but I am glad she’s doing better! That has got to be tough with everything you have going on. Feel free to share anything, anytime! There are so many people here willing to lift others up and support them, if you feel comfortable sharing, we are here to listen. True Disney folks are the most genuine people in the world and I feel like numerous people here are more real with me than those I know in the “real world” and they spend more time with me. We all get it :blush: I have panic attacks if I can’t get on D-Cot
it gets me through my work days, helps me plan my vacations, and provides me with friends who don’t question my Disney obsession. So I am so thankful for D-Cot too! 
I’m sorry you are going through a rough time. But I’m glad that you are able to relieve some stress here!

laprana, let me start by saying we are glad you are here! I am so sorry to hear about your rough year and I will certainly pray for your Mom’s health. It’s a tough road, both for her and her support system and family, but you and your sister are doing a wonderful job helping her through I am sure. Job uncertainty is so stressful and I will pray that all works out in your favor also. And I will echo disneyfan1966 in that you are anything but worthless. There is so much better out there for you, someone who truly deserves a beautiful, caring, kind woman such as yourself. It may be tough to see right now, but it’s true. You deserve the best and I’m confident that will happen.
We’re all here to celebrate each other’s triumphs, and console in each other’s losses, and pick each other up and dust them off when they fall. Anything any of us can do, even if it’s just lending an ear, we’ve got you.
And these certainly don’t hurt either!

I’m glad to hear that your mom is doing better, I know that must be hard for you. I’m also very sorry to hear about your breakup… unfortunately I’ve been there before and I know how it feels. If you ever want to ‘chat’ about it, I’m only a private message away

I am in complete agreement. I have been on numerous Disney sites. For the most part, I found the other sites cliche. The regulars of the site protected their preferential environment.
D-Cot truly holds the Disney persona. Everyone here participates with the ideals that Walt wished for. On top of that, Jukebox and Chelle are resources that have no equal.

It’s the first time in a long time that I’ve felt like someone actually cares. I’m not sure I even know what to say. @disneyfan1966, @starbee, @nascfan, @eeyorepoohfan thank you all for your offers to chat and listen and for your prayers. I’ll take all the prayers I can get right now, and just might take you up on your offers to talk. And everyone else, thank you so much for the encouragement and good thoughts. I was hesitant to put any of this out there, but I’m glad I did. This group of people is just amazing. We are so happy to have you here! Lots of hugs and prayers for you during this difficult year! Praying for your mom’s health and for you and your sister for taking on the role of caregiver as needed. We all understand that life isn’t just pixie dust. It gets difficult and ugly at times. But as others have mentioned, we truly are family on here! We are here to be your shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, and a voice for encouragement! Don’t ever hesitate to reach out to any or all of us if you are needing some extra encouragement for the day. This is the best family you could be a part of.

laprana…I have dealt with depression for years and it’s by the grace of God that we get through each day. This site means so much to me and I am glad you are here too. We are a community of Disney freaks but also caring people. I have a close friend who is battling stage 4 lung cancer right now, so I know how much prayer is needed. I am so glad your mom is doing well. I couldn’t live without mine. She is my rock. I was so glad when I found this site. I thought I was the only person out there who lives and breathes Disney. I feel that I have a lot more friends now
