Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon April 2018 Day 6

Monday April 23rd:
6:30 am wake up. I was a bit slow going getting out of bed and moving. We got ready for the day and went down to breakfast. We were dropped off at MK by 8:45am for a 9am opening! So we actually made it on time! We rope dropped Space Mountain with a 10 minute wait. We then met Scott and Kathy and went to Thunder. Then off to Jungle to use our FP’s. Mine Train was down so we couldn’t use our FP for that right now. We decided to go have a chuckle at the Laugh Floor! Scott was selected to ask/answer questions. It was so funny! Mine Train was back up so we went and used our FP’s. We were getting hungry so Ryan and I had a snack of waffle fries and pork rinds from the Outpost. Then off to Pooh to use our FP! As we walk by the carousel, we saw them starting the Sword in the Stone presentation so we stopped to watch. I can’t remember the last time we saw this! The funny part is that Ryan was selected to participate!! He’s not a big “participate” kind of person. But he was a great sport and had fun! He wasn’t able to pull the sword from the stone, but he loosened it up for the kid that followed him! We were going to ride the train around the park, but they were only running one train and the line at the station was stated to be at least 45 minutes! Yikes! No thanks! So we took a spin on People Mover. We were able to snag FP’s for Everest for 2:55pm while riding People Mover! Ryan and I grabbed a Dole Whip and a Citrus Swirl to share while Scott and Kathy got their lunch at Pecos Bills. We sat inside and upstairs with them while we all enjoyed our food! We stopped for some final castle pics with Scott and Kathy before saying our sad goodbye for the trip around 1:40pm.

We caught a bus to AK and only waited about 10-15 minutes for our bus. First stop was Starbucks! Then we took our drinks and split lunch in Pizzafari. We shared a pepperoni pizza and small salad. Then off to use our Everest FP! We decided to stop in to watch the 3:30pm UP bird show, the new version. It ended up getting cut short because a massive storm was rolling in. Ryan and I took cover in one of the shops. It actually didn’t even rain much there, but there was quite a bit of lightning. While we were in the store, we were able to snag a Navi FP for 4:55pm and it was 4:05pm! Score! The rain had stopped so we started to walk around a bit. But most attractions and even snack carts were still closed and waiting for the all clear from the lightning. So I “patiently” waited for the cart to open. We hung out for a bit while we waited until we could do online check in for our flight and were able to do that at 4:55pm. Once that was done we then went and used our Navi FP. We then snagged another Everest FP for 5:40pm start time. We enjoyed dinner in Pandora. We really like the food here! And free drink refills is always nice! We made our way to Everest and checked in for our FP at 6:30pm, cutting in close but we made it! I saw my name on the tv screen in line today! So cool! I was able to snag an immediate Dinosaur FP while we were in line at Everest. So that was our next stop! And I was able to snag an immediate Primeval Whirl FP which we used right away after our Dinosaur ride! Once we got off of PW I was able to snag a near immediate FP for the safari and started our journey at 7:25pm. We had an awesome safari and our driver’s name was Ryan! During the safari we saw the new baby hippo and it was nursing! The zookeepers were observing from a distance. But so cool to see and the hippo was adorable!!! The lions were also waking up and pacing too! We called it a day and were ready to head back to our room to get packed up to head home tomorrow. Our bus was about to pull away when they saw us coming and they waited for us. We were back to our room by 8:30pm, filled up our mug and bought a red velvet cupcake that we took to our room. We showered and got all packed up. Lights out 10:45pm.
