    This is my “backyard” track map, well, vaguely. It has a few more small twists and turns, but this is the basic layout. The thin blue line is the property in entirety. The green is where my track is going downhill, the red is where I huff an puff to go uphill. It’s about 0.5 miles.

    Aggravated with myself this morning. Somehow slept thru my 4AM alarm. Didn’t have enough time to run before Abby’s meds.

    Don’t be too hard on yourself. Your body needed the rest after the past few weeks.

    It’s ok. Sometimes your body just needs the extra rest. (I myself didn’t realize 4:00 came twice a day ;) )

    I have my next paced run this afternoon hopefully. Depends on if it thunder storms or not. I guess my legs have recovered from my run this past weekend ;)

    If it just rains, I would go out and run. I’ve run in the eye of a hurricane, snow, and downpours. I try to stay inside during thunderstorms.

    Last night got onto the my Dreadmill because it was too muggy outside, AND there were thunderstorms around our town threatening to rain on my parade LOL I ended up doing one of my ‘baby runs’, and then stretched it out and foam rolled for a good 20 minutes afterwards :cool: . While I was really hoping for some fresh air, it was a solid run. :up:

    Promise I will read through the whole thread later. I have only done a handful of 5ks, but I like doing them. I am participating in the Pluto virtual races this summer. I envy all of you that can go out in this horrid humidity and run. I get heat stroke easily and can’t, so I either go out very early in the morning or as the sun sets (if the humidity is decreased). My times aren’t great, but I keep pushing. Eventually, I want to participate in a 5k, 10k and half marathon in Disney. That’s my end goal.

    That’s a great goal! Good job on the 5K’s and signing up for the virtual races this summer. I do feel your pain on the horrible humidity, it’s usually in the mid 90’s or 100% when I go, even at 4:30 in the morning. One of the bad things about living on the coast. Just keep swimming and you will get where you want to be!

    @FigmentChick
    , times don’t matter, you’re lapping everyone on the couch. Great job just getting out there! That’s an awesome goal, I know you can reach it!

    @acamm great job on that Dreadmill run!

    @figmentchick
    Props to finding a way to run away from the humidity! Keep it up!

    @10dedfish
    This time of year, I have no problem whatsoever running in the rain, no matter how intense! It’s quite refreshing in this humidity :) Thunderstorms and dangerously high heat this time of year would be all that keeps me inside. :up:
