Funny enough, it was about 44 when I left the house at 6:30 this morning.

I didn’t think SoCal got that cold! :surprised:

Shockingly, it can get “cold” here. I mean, I’ve started races where its 28 out and I’m in a beanie and gloves and then later that morning it’s almost 70. LOL

    Behind again:

    Thursday, November 7
4 mile run in the neighborhood. It was a chilly 38*, the coldest day I’ve been out in so far this fall. I didn’t take Leia because she got kinda bored on Tuesday’s run. The neighborhood is super creepy in the evening in the dark! I don’t know why but cars slow down and stop in the middle of the street sometimes when I’m running on the sidewalk. I don’t know why but it freaks me out.

    Time: 45:39
    Distance: 4.00
    Pace: 11’24”

Dopey training is in full swing and I decided to repeat the last week where I left off before vacation since it’s been about 6 weeks since I did a distance run. The weather was a beautiful 65* by the afternoon so I ran at one of the trails. I had to stop at one point because there were a crap ton of families out there taking pictures for what I guess will be their Christmas cards. They were blocking the trail and for some reason I didn’t think about the fact I could have just turned around and gone the other way to keep moving :P instead I waited because there were about 5 of us trying to get by. The next time I bumped into another group, sense kicked in and I did turn around and go the other way. I also had to break my ratios at times also because we got 14 straight hours of rain Wednesday night into Thursday and there were a lot of muddy/slick spots I couldn’t run through. I thought with the cold weather we’ve been having that the mosquitoes would be dead, but apparently not. I have 13 bites now from that run :(

    Time: 1:00:00
    Distance: 5.00 miles
    Pace: 11’59”

You’re doing great @starbee! Your pace is plenty quick enough and you’re smart to not go too far after the forced semi-layoff. Keep it up, so proud of you!

Thanks! :) I forgot to post my most recent run :( I don’t know what it was about my 5 miler but my legs felt like lead. So hard to move. I hate runs like that!

Get those out of the way now. Then you’ll have four great ones at Dopey! ;)

@starbee Those were some un-fun runs there, but you’re pacing quite well! I like to be on the side of optimism and also say we’ll have 4 great runs in the Dopey Challenge :dopey:

Yesterday was my first run since my knee started giving me pain. It was a paced workout and I took things easy just to be safe. I’m glad to say it went well! I’m not showing too much regression and my knee didn’t give me any significant pain and still feels pretty good today! We ran for 30 minutes, in the dark :P and cold :P but went 2.27 miles for a pace of 13’14″/mile. The rock tape seemed to help out a lot too, but YOUCH! when I remove it from my hairy legs!

Hoping to do a distance run on Saturday and my knee (IT Band) continues to hold out! I’m keeping up with my stretches to help insure that it does.

So getting up before work to run is getting easier again but omg getting my body to move is not LOL
The area we live in is surrounded by hills so no matter what, I’m running uphill during some part of my run. I try to get it in in the first half so that I can get a “break” the second but man oh man. Rough LOL
