@nascfan Thank you! I considered skipping my run but I didn’t. I knew I could still do it and I needed to. I’m sure I’ll be able to get back into it after this week. I want to. Hopefully I won’t be as run down as I was last time!

I pray that you won’t be!
August 21, 2019 at 7:38 am #115353Great job @starbee !! This weather makes it so tough, it’s been in the 90’s here and yesterday the afternoon was so humid I walked because I kept getting dizzy, We had a huge storm in the evening and it cooled down and it felt so great to run in that !!
August 21, 2019 at 7:26 pm #115371@breesmommy5 Thanks! it really does. We get a couple of months of middle ground and then the rest of the year is crazy extremes! Temperatures in the teens during the winter and triple digits in the summer! the heat can make me dizzy and nauseous too. It sucks! Yes! I did a 9 mile run in the rain back in June and it was so nice!!!

missingWDW183 XPI decided I need to start pushing myself again. I lost that competitive drive I had with my runs after those springtime allergies set me back. My goal is to get back to running my 6 before work and then doing 8 on the weekend. Right now I’ve been running 5, and I increased my weights when working out, so I’m hoping I’m back there soon! I’ve gotten so weak and I hate it! Miss not struggling with every run.
Slow and steady…….August 24, 2019 at 9:22 am #115431Slow and steady @missingwdw ! You are awesome! Just keep putting one foot in front of the other!
August 25, 2019 at 12:16 pm #115457@missingWDW Half the battle is getting back on the horse and you did that already! I know what you mean and I’m going through the same thing right now after being on orders and not having time to run. We can do this!
August 28, 2019 at 5:36 pm #115563I am finally running again after another forced hiatus. I finished out my runDisney Virtual Running Shorts by completing the August Black Panther 5K I wasn’t really going for a PR on the time, just trying to finish the challenge and get back into running. I had Leia with me so we stopped for a few potty breaks as we ran in the dark around the neighborhood
Time: 36:38
Distance: 3.1 miles
Pace: 11’49”My third mile was my fastest at 10’48”

August 29, 2019 at 8:16 am #115569Great job @starbee! Smart to not push too hard too fast, but dang, your third mile! So awesome! You totally killed it! I’m so proud of you!
August 29, 2019 at 2:23 pm #115624@breesmommy5 Thanks! I need to take a picture of the medal and post it in the Virtual Running Shorts thread
@nascfan Thanks! Haha, I was ready to be doneAugust 29, 2019 at 2:43 pm #115626This morning’s run was uneventful. 4 miles today around the neighborhood with Leia again. In the dark where all the spiders’ eyes glow green in my headlamp and remind me of It’s Tough to Be A Bug
My run yesterday was pretty nice with a slight breeze and 66*. Today was not to nice – 74* and 91% humidity. It was very sticky and I was soaked before the first mile. Hopefully for the sake of my running Oklahoma will decide to have a Fall season this year!
Time: 49:00
Distance: 4.00 miles
Pace: 12’14”I plan on running again tomorrow but the current forecast is 70% chance of storms so that may not happen
August 29, 2019 at 3:00 pm #115627Very good job this morning! Oh that is so sticky, blech! I’m hoping for good weather for you!
September 1, 2019 at 8:30 pm #115661Hey everyone. I know I’ve been scarce on here. Guess I haven’t had much to report training wise. We’ve been keeping up with it and getting our weekday and weekend runs in, but it wasn’t until yesterday that we were finally able to reach our next milestone: 13.1 miles!!! Yeah, we only needed to do 13, but we figured we would do the extra tenth for confidence when our 1/2 Marathon rolls around September 28th.
We ran a portion of a 40 or so mile rail trail a couple of counties away from us. It was a lovely day for a run and the trail is mostly shaded too. Lots of people enjoying the day on the trail: Runners, hikers, bikers, and because of the creek that runs parallel to it, tubers. My dad drove us to and from the trail so we could run straight up and not double back. During Mile 8 we stopped for restrooms and to refill our water supply which is why our lap time on that one was pretty horrendous.
Otherwise, the run took us 2:50:23 for a pace of 13’00″/mile which we thought was pretty darn super-fantastic! Gave us good reason to hope for Proof of Time on our 1/2 Marathon!

What a great run! Congrats on making it 13.1 miles! You are more than ready for your half – which is fast approaching! I forgot the trail sounds really nice and how neat you were able to get a ride and not have to double back. Sometimes I like having to do that because I can’t quit
