Runner's support and Accountability

Today made two consecutive days of running. I can’t remember the last time I did that. I’ve lived in fear of it ever since I got shin splints last summer but I have no reason to believe that was the cause. Not knowing the cause is what’s made me so scared of it. I need to overcome that fear before Dopey! 60* and cloudy today. Leia and I hit the trail for 4 miles. I kept the same ratios as always without thinking that it may be tough to do running 4 miles two days in a row for the first time. There were a few times when it felt a lot longer than it was but overall it was fine. It’s mostly mental.

I felt more tired during and after the run today than I usually do, but I’m sure that’s just because it’s the first time I’ve run consecutive days in months. I still performed well I think as I keep training that will get easier. Tomorrow is a rest day but I may run Sunday, weather permitting. The current forecast is rain all weekend with highs in the 50’s of course, nice all week and crappy over the weekend. Go figure. But it’s Oklahoma so that could change. If I do get rained out it’s not the end of the world, I’ve gotten what I needed to done this week

@nascfan Thanks pal! Dopey training is in full swing!!! I was going to wait until after my 10k but I decided to just go ahead and start it. Seeing all the videos and posts about the Star Wars race weekend on IG made me super excited for Dopey!

@nascfan Don’t get me wrong, I go back and forth. Sometimes I’m excited and other times I’m about to poop myself but I figure when it comes down to it, it will still be fun and totally worth it

I’m signed up for a 10k here in Chicagoland and after it being in the 50s and sunny it’s now literally freezing and snow/sleeting outside. If the roads are clear enough to drive to the event, I’ll run it though.

Well, I just ran that 10k! Now I have no excuses not to run any other races throughout the year. And I can look back on this in July when it feels too hot.
