Our last run was 3 weeks ago! Due to travels then my horrible allergies I haven’t been able to get out and run. I went into my run today knowing that I would be slow since I’ve been coughing so much. We decided to run close to home which meant it was a long downhill followed by a long uphill. I was feeling very wheezy by the end. But I managed to stick with my 60/30 run/walk ratio. Ryan ran his own pace today. I just set my Garmin to alert me of my intervals. I’m glad I finally got out to run. Too bad our air quality was bad.
February 9, 2019 at 10:20 pm #102116@eeyorepoohfan Thanks! It’s been pretty rough so far unfortunately. The Department of Human Services lied to us about her history and it’s causing some problems. Not my kiddo’s fault whatsoever. Hopefully things will get better. I have done no exercise now (aside from rope drop walking) for over two weeks
February 9, 2019 at 10:23 pm #102118@starbee Oh man! I’m sorry to hear that! That causes extra stress! Don’t even feel bad about not exercising! I just got my first workout (a run) I’m today in 3 weeks!
February 9, 2019 at 10:27 pm #102120@eeyorepoohfan It does, especially with work not going great, I feel so completely drained and lacking in motivation in all facets of life right now The weather also turned to crap recently, so much colder with no reprieve! I feel bad about not exercising because I think I should always be ready. My supervisor at drill today was trying to get me to PT test in April – 6 months early! Absolutely not!
February 9, 2019 at 10:38 pm #102122@starbee I’m sorry work isn’t going great either! This is a lot for you to deal with right now! I can see how you feel drained! Ugh! Stupid cold weather! You will get back to it again! And you will be ready for your PT test! I hope you don’t have to test early! I don’t want you to stress about it!
February 10, 2019 at 9:34 am #102133You did absolutely awesome @eeyorepoohfan! I am so impressed with you after the layoff and the air quality! You are a superstar and this shows it! Great job getting it in!
February 10, 2019 at 9:40 am #102134@nascfan Thank you so much!! I was feeling good for the first mile or so. Then my body gave me a reality check! On the super positive side, I think my run really cleared out my lungs! My coughing and congestion has really subsided!
February 10, 2019 at 1:18 pm #102151February 10, 2019 at 7:42 pm #102182@eeyorepoohfan that is great news about your coughing!
And you did super awesome today with your run! With that cold breeze and cloud cover, and feeling yesterday’s run, your pace was fantastic! I am so proud of you! April here we come!February 10, 2019 at 7:50 pm #102184So truth be told, I hesitate to post a lot because I feel guilty with our time compared to the much more speedy folks here. I try to justify it with we do 75-80% walk with 20-25% jog but I still feel bad. Anyway we got in 2.1 miles at our rec center track today and I have my wife at a solid 15 minute flat mile pace. My aim is to get her a bit quicker and increase the distance some for Star Wars Rival weekend and our late spring/summer of 5k’s. I think we’re in good shape to do that!
February 10, 2019 at 8:40 pm #102186@eeyorepoohfan I think I’ve dodged the April PT test bullet!
@nascfan Nice! We’re all in different places but that’s okay! Like you always say to me, you’re lapping everyone on the couch and you should be proud of that so post away! There will always be someone ahead of you and behind youFebruary 10, 2019 at 10:05 pm #102199Thank you @starbee. I truly mean that. Sometimes even I need to hear that! And it helps.
February 10, 2019 at 10:47 pm #102203@nascfan Thank you! My cough has really subsided throughout the day!! Thank you! Ryan and I are determined to have better April races than we did last year! I’m so proud of you and Kathy! You are doing great! Always be proud of your training sessions!
@starbee Oh I’m so glad you’ve dodged the PT bullet for April!February 11, 2019 at 7:02 am #102228@eeyorepoohfan that’s great that your cough is even better! You guys will be better, I’m sure of that! And if something happens that you do get blistered up, Kathy and I have a plan for me to carry you onto the bus and back to the room and she’ll carry your post-race goodies. We’ve got you guys! And thank you for always supporting us!
February 11, 2019 at 2:24 pm #102258It’s been a while with the site issues and all! I have to get caught up!
For Christy and I, we completed a run back on Feb 3rd. Here’s the stats on that one:
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/3354411625
It’s currently our best pace of 2019!
We also did a long run on Feb 9. That one was on a trail at a local State Park and that trail was HARD. So many steep climbs and one point where we came to an impassable creek crossing. We ended up taking the trail about 3 miles out and then going to the road to take us back to where we parked. Still we finished with adequate time by some miracle! I can’t post the detailed stats because I paused while we found a way around the creek and it took us so long that my watch stopped tracking us and flubbed the whole thing up and we had to split it into 2 separate runs as recorded on the watch. So here’s the full stats for the first portion:
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/3369915571
Here’s the full stats for the second portion:
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/3369915792
And here’s the combined basic stats:
Distance: 6.00 miles
Time: 1:24:44
Pace: 14’07″/mile
