I actually tried to change my route this morning because I turned down one street and it was a sheet of ice. I walked that section and went a different way the next time around. The only problem was the change in my route had me running into the wind for a much longer period of time. At those temps, I said to myself, I’d rather walk on the ice
So, I only altered my route that one time. The remainder of my run took me across the ice, but I welcomed the little walk break each time
January 14, 2019 at 4:10 pm #100250@missingWDW Yeah, I agree with @nascfan. “Enjoyed the cold weather”? No such thing! I have gone tent camping in the stuff and built up a tolerance to the cold that has lasted for years! But still, it’s a tolerance not an enjoyment. Anyway, glad you forced yourself out there today!!!
January 14, 2019 at 9:17 pm #100279@rocketEAR99 Wow!!! You and Christy are rock stars!!! Simply amazing!!!!
@missingWDW I can’t wait for spring weather!!!! But not our spring winds, pollen and brown outs!! I’m so sick of the desert!!!
@nascfan I agree!! I never enjoy the cold weather! Ever!!!!January 14, 2019 at 9:19 pm #100280@missingWDW Yikes! Watch out for that ice! You couldn’t win between the ice and the wind!
January 15, 2019 at 8:08 am #100306@eeyorepoohfan Thanks! I mean, I don’t mean to brag, but “rock” is in my username and “star” is assumed
January 15, 2019 at 10:18 am #100326@rocketEAR99 Very true!!! At least you are living up to your name!

bexruns374 XPHi friends, long time no see!
If we’re friends on any form of social media, you know I’ve still been running pretty consistently. My next race, as of right now, isn’t till March and it’s the LA Marathon. It will be my 5th time running it and I’m pretty excited about it.
I hope you’re all doing amazing and just remember: this is supposed to be fun! And if you’re not having fun then take a break.
January 19, 2019 at 10:43 pm #100626@bexruns You are doing amazing! Keep it up! I love seeing your FB posts! I’m cheering you on! I can’t believe it’s almost time for your 5th LA marathon!
January 19, 2019 at 10:45 pm #100631Got in a 7 mile run this morning! I discovered that the pecan processing plant we run by is my nemesis! Total allergy flare up and sneezing like crazy! Today was about distance, not pace. But I was still very happy with my pace! My body was having all sorts of issues today, but one foot in front of the other and I got it done! I’m so thankful to Ryan for all the extra encouragement today! I even managed to get a light sunburn from all the beautiful sunshine! I didn’t particularly enjoy the headwind we hit off and on! ????
January 20, 2019 at 6:46 am #100634@eeyorepoohfan you did awesome! I am SO proud of you! Between the pecan processing plant and the headwinds, that is just a great pace! I’m so glad Ryan was able to help keep encouraging you! I hope my cheers helped too. You were just fantastic, I hope your allergies will be feeling better today!

missingWDW183 XPHey @nascfan, what have you been up to???
Walking/running? I know I’m not on here much, but I thought you mentioned you were doing the half with @eeyorepoohfan. Or am I wrong?
How’s your training going? You always encourage the rest of us but never post your successes….or struggles!
What’s up?January 20, 2019 at 8:31 am #100639@missingwdw thank you for checking on me! I’m not doing the half, I’ll never do a half, but Kathy and I are doing the 5k Rival Weekend. I’m doing well, continuing with my usual walk/run. Every day at lunch I complete at least a half hour to 40 minutes of rope drop walk (sometimes some jogging) at work. Every. Single. Day. Some days are good, some days are struggles, but I try to remember “there is no such thing as a bad run (walk)”. So I don’t want to bore you guys with “today I did a rope drop walk” “today I did another rope drop walk” “oh hey look, another rope drop walk” But yes, I’ve been doing that and hamster wheel when I can with more jogging. I’m working my way up to be able to do a 10k with @eeyorepoohfan at Wine and Dine in 2020. I’ve had Kathy mall walking most of the fall and early winter and we signed up at our Rec Center this month for the semester to get her more used to the walk/run and in better cardio shape for the 5k. In fact, we will head there this morning for our usual Sunday morning training. We hit that another time a week and then mall walk another time or two. Should be good by April!
