@starbee I love that quote, too! I think about it often. It actually helps me get out there some days.
    :)
Good luck with those virtual races! Starting back is the hardest part, but you know what you’re capable of. Push through and go for it!!!

Our run ended up being just 2 miles instead of a 5k. My hip was hurting and progressively hurt worse the farther I ran. We still stuck to our 60 second run 30 second walk intervals. It helped me to keep moving forward. I just slowed down my pace a bit. Ryan got me adjusted this afternoon and now I feel amazing!! My femur was out of alignment, causing me a bunch of issues.

@eeyorepoohfan you did a great job! Slowing your pace was so smart, and you were still way below a 12 minute mile! I’m super glad Ryan adjusted you and you feel much better! I’m so proud of you, for doing something and for not pushing it so you didn’t risk injury!

@nascfan I was honestly surprised I maintained that pace! I regret not having Ryan adjust me before the run. But it is what it is. And I still managed two miles! I am absolutely happy I listened to my body too.

@eeyorepoohfan, yeah that would have been good but it’s okay, the most important thing is you feel good now. You’ll kick butt on the next run! You’re awesome!

@eeyorepoohfan So glad you have a chiropractor for a husband! He’s good at keeping you in line literally and figuratively! LOL Glad you got 2 miles in and were able to keep to your intervals!

Christy and I didn’t get our scheduled distance run in this past weekend, but for good reasons! We were able to lay our hands on a much-needed ditch witch for the weekend and have been waiting since September to get some water and electrical lines run underground from our house to our barn and campsite. We wouldn’t dare try to dig all that by hand! Saturday morning the project began and ran clear through Monday. It was entertaining when my uncle yelled out, “Done with that ditch!” and my dad yelled back, “What was that?!…Oh. Thought you said something else!” LOL We’re still working on the finishing touches, but the ditches were dug and the lines were run, just not yet connected.

So while we didn’t get a run in, we still had quite a workout! Getting our weekly dreadmill runs in hasn’t been a problem though, so Sunday we plan to pick up where we left off and do our 4.5 miles on a trail by the Chesapeake Bay.

Ditch Witch! Good choice using one of the orange machines. They are made in my hometown and my dad retired from there. I worked at the plant during summer break and Christmas in college and at one of the dealerships when I was working on my masters degree. Thanks for your support!

Thank you! I am blessed to be married to a Chiropractor!! I was happy to be able to manage the 2 miles and keep my intervals as well! You guys were busy and completely understandable on not getting your run in. Cheering you on for your 4.5 miler!

It’s 47 degrees here in Indy today !! Took all my stress out on the track and I’m surprised at my time because I did not run that much, mostly power walked

I got out and ran today for the second time since Halloween :surprised: I definitely think the knee pain on my last run was due to cold winds because this time I had no issues in that respect. I aimed for 1.5 miles just to ease back into it and I ran on a new trail here at the base where I’m currently stationed. I did run the 1.5 miles but it was pretty slow as I was expecting. It was 34* and it’s been 10 months since I ran in weather that cold so I had to take a couple walk breaks because my lungs hurt and I left a little nauseous. That always happens for my first few runs in the winter so I’m not super concerned. I was really proud of myself for getting out there when I didn’t feel like it and I felt great afterwards! Plus the trail was actually really pretty! Also, I found a super awesome Disney workout playlist on Spotify that really pushed me! :)
