10dedfish177 XPGreat to everyone!
Finally got a run in this morning, been weeks since I got my last one in. Stupid job. Weather was great, morning was amazing, knee was killing me. Grrrr stupid knee.
October 24, 2018 at 10:10 am #92919@10dedfish Glad you got out for a run, but sorry about your knee I have to take it easy on mine too these days
October 24, 2018 at 10:12 am #92921Got a paced workout in yesterday evening.
Distance: 2.22 miles
Time: 0:30:00
Pace: 13’29″/mileOctober 24, 2018 at 3:32 pm #92960Great job you guys! @rocketear99 I’m so excited to see you want to do the marathon! I know you can do it!
Walk/run…mostly walk because we’re old and our knees aren’t what they used to be, is the only way we can do things. We can maintain a 14:30 minute mile consistently when I pace her. So if we can do that, I just know you can match or beat that! Remember, you don’t have to do a 10 minute mile or anything crazy like that, you just have to stay in front of the balloon ladies. Good luck, you got this and we’ll be cheering you on!October 25, 2018 at 8:28 am #93036
10dedfish177 XP@rocketear99 Great job and good luck on the marathon. I would love to do one, I just dont have the free time to train right now. I got another run in this morning with my neighbor, 3.1 miles in just under a 10 minute pace. It was a little on the chilly side, high 30’s. Had to break out the gloves and the hoodie.
October 25, 2018 at 8:34 am #93037Awesome job this morning @10dedfish!
October 29, 2018 at 11:37 am #93431@10dedfish and @RocketEAR99 Great work on getting out there and logging the miles even though the knees were sore.
@Nascfan You are definitely not old, my friend! Kudos for finding and sticking with what works for you. Your 14:30 min/mile pace is quite brisk. Some might consider it a really light jog!OK. I signed up for a half marathon a little over a month ago, and the date of the race is Saturday, November 10. I’ve been gradually increasing my mileage and praying my calves stay strong. I am incredibly grateful to have had good training runs. My weekday runs are in the 5 mile range and I go longer on Saturdays. Last Saturday I ran 6 miles, and this past Saturday I was able to knock out 9 miles. All running. It’s been probably two years since I’ve been able to run that distance without walking some and/or without suffering a calf injury. I hope to run 11-12 miles this coming Saturday and then be set for half on 11/10. Cooler temps definitely help also.
